It's not unfair, it's reality.
This is what any android user will have to face. This is Apple's competitive advantage- they were first, they've been out longer, they have more developers, they have a larger user base. Apple has a big head start. Why wait for the android marketplace to develop when the iPhone already has tons of apps? Most consumers will not wait, they want it now.
It's just like the iPod. The iPod/iTunes got a head start, sure they're rhapsody, the zune store, etc, they just never caught on. iTunes/iPod has been the default choice, the standard for music.
There are a lot of anti-apple/iphone people. A lot of consumers WILL wait, and they do.
I've owned the iPhone and the G1. I don't see anything particularly wrong with android. It's clean, fast, and browser does not crash(im all into apple but safari has to go). As for apps...they are only fun the first day and just sit on my screen, and that goes for both devices.
Android is just starting up, youre basically comparing a baby to an adult.
And most consumers like variety in devices...=). Samsung, Motorola, LG should all be showcasing their android devices at MWC in a couple weeks...=) yay
