So, last semester, I was put on academic probation. My Gpa was a 2.3 and you needed at least a 2.5 when you're in the business school. And after the semester was over, i thought i did pretty okay, but it turns out i didnt and i still didnt reach the 2.5 gpa requirement. So this semester i was kicked out of my business school and put back into the liberal arts school. I have no clue what to do, and my advisor isnt being helpful at all. I'm taking the rest of my core classes that i can this semester which is only 3 classes. I'm also a 4th year student, but my credits don't make me a senior since i transferred, i'm technically only a junior with 65 credits. I barely even started taking my finance classes. I have no clue what to do now and pretty bummed.

My question is, has anyone else been kicked outta their main major school? I'm going to try to bring my gpa up and reapply.. but i'm not sure how reapplying actually works and if i'll even get accepted bak. And If i don't, I'm basically wasting my fall semester just taking electives...

Has anyone else experienced this, or am i just the only failure. Please share some stories..

(i've been going through alot through the past year..)

Don't worry failure is the not the end of world.

But on another note GPA 2.3 is quite a low score.didn't you study at all?

yes, 2.3 is low, esepcially when you didnt take finance yet. You were probably taking marketing or somethign similar. But yes.. take courses that are transferable and get a godo gpa and you can reapply.

wouldnt it be better to take the all the GEN ED classes first, and THEN take the classes of the UNIVERSITY of your choice, so you could transfer?

decide on whether business is really something for you. if it is, then go after it. a semester or two is a small price to get back in.

i got kicked out of my major, but not the business school itself. i'm probably just gonna transfer to another school to finish it.

your situation happened to my friend though. i dunno if your school has this, but he's doing open university and then reapplying. i think that way you can still work on core classes even if you're not in the school yet.

I never realized a 2.3 GPA was possible
Even I never hit that low and I don't even study man
Guess you can redeem yourself by studying 100% but it'll be no slacking allowed from then on

You seem really concerned, but what I don't get is why did you bring yourself to this point though? Did you try at all? I don't want to seem like I'm bashing you I'm just concerned so we can figure out what the problem here is. Are you trying your hardest, studying, uncomfortable in class, do not understand your professor(s), what's wrong? You should start the change with you and see how things turn out. Then we or maybe your advisor can help you as well but it seems as if you just want the easy way out. I'm sorry, but in college there's no easy way out unless there's something wrong with your school.

We're here to help, just be honest with what's going on then we can put in our input to help you.

Go directly to the Dean of the business school or whoever is in charge and set up an appointment with them. Make sure that if you get your gpa back up to 2.5 that they will allow you back in the business school. You don't want to be wasting your time and money

Damn... I'm glad I never became a business major. It sounds really tough, from the way you described it. Don't bother wasting your time taking electives - I did that for 2 semesters once and sometimes they don't even help because like (depending on the school) you'll still be behind on major courses since they need to be taken in a sequence and stuff. Hard to explain. My best advice would be to try to reapply a.s.a.p and in the meanwhile, just take a break. It seems as though you need to chillax and think things over. School can get pretty stressful and this should serve as a sign that you're overworking yourself.

is it really important to reapply to that particular school? you can't find another school to apply to? my friend got kick from their school but then asked another school to take a class there because schools have this program that will allow you take a class in another school without being officially in that school i can't remember what it was...but i know that my friend didn't apply and then after taking a course in that school then applied to the school they were taking the class in rather than going back to their original school...it was just a class to bring up the gpa...
but if you really want transferable credits...then suggestion is to take something that is transferable...though i think it's kind of hard to tell what is and what isn't transferable because i have other friends who have transferred and they have to start from scratch with the whole grad requirements because all that work they did in their other schools became electives
