for math, its just constantly doing practice books and going over concepts & strengthening them with more practice problems
for verbal, build up your vocab & learn to pick out the key points in a critical reading passage
for writing, review grammar rules and all that stuff. ppl always tell me to practice writing the sat type of essays but that just made it worse for me.. =.=
and for any part of the SAT, time management is crucial.

If the practice books don't help you, you could always spend a fortune on the Princeton Review's SAT Prep course. It guarantees to raise your score up by 200 points.

goood question.
read... a lot of classics. and don't just read it. define words that you don't know. make an effort...you know?
math....just practice it from those prep books. the math part is not that hard. you just need to have logic and understand what the question is asking you.
grammar...thats a toughy. pay attention in english class?? ahah...i dunno. i suck at grammar

practice practice practice!
Critical Reading: memorize vocab
Math: practice! watch out for their wording. college board wants to trick you
Writing: Study grammar and brainstorm essay topics. There are alot of recyclable topics that you can reuse for their essay prompts. Remember main ideas and themes from history (wars, movements like the renaissance), current events, and books that you've read in school (classics are the best)

(: You're only a freshman and you're already concerned about the SAT? Wow.
I wish I wasn't such a procrastinator.
Yeah, Kaplan has a lot of SAT prep books to practice with. And work it up because in Junior year if you do well, you can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship!
