Easy to upgrade the RAM. There's slots the secure the RAM cover in place. Just slide the screw driver gently but firmly on each side to pop it out.

After upgrading the RAM, what changed? I guess since the processor is the same, it wouldn't help with playing HD video files...

I've tried looking it up, but they seem similar except for screen size and processor I think.
Is one significantly better?
What's the difference between the N-series and the NC-series?
I'm leaning towards the N120 more... Hmm...
[edit] Whoa. I just read that the Samsung N310 will come out some time this year.
It looks nice in pictures o___o I think I should wait now....... Ehhh.

i bought the 4G in jan/feb 08 and a lot has changed over 1 year.
i actually didn't use it as much as I thought I would, never really bought it to school(my original purpose) since my college has a ton of computer labs anyway.
i'm thinking of giving it to my mom, she'd probably enjoy it.

Any advice? I have a MacBook already, so I want to get a PC to just carry around with me to class and such.. so battery life is most important... I might play some videos and games on it too though...

It's only $50 more, so I was totally going to go with the N110... until I found out it only came in black. Anyone know when the white version is coming out? It's not that I'm really bent on aesthetics, but glossy blacks are fingerprint magnets and that's not something I want to deal with (Even though I'm sure no one will notice but me). Glossy black also shows scratches easier too. I suppose I could stick with the NC10, but the battery life is appealing too. I don't think my school has dedicated computer labs and while the classrooms are all very very outlet-friendly, other places like the library and student lounge(s) may not be that generous... 3hrs could be the difference between me finding an outlet and charging up and... not.

I'd rather get the NC10 if the N110 has a glossy screen. Matte screen is so much nicer imo.

Well what's more important to you? battery life or aesthetics?

Probably battery life.
How heavy are the cords for netbooks? Are they as substantial as regular laptops (I swear, if my cord weighs MORE than my netbook, it will be extremely ironic)? Ideally, I'd like the freedom of not needing an outlet typing away during classes (even though, like I said, our classrooms are hooked up pretty well... we're talking outlet strips across the floors), but I don't necessarily have a problem with plugging into one if need be...
Eh. I guess I'll just be patient and see whenever the white one comes out.

I'm looking for something that has a decent amount of memory, good battery life, and easy to use (my dad's not very good with computers.)
Also, I'm sure my dad would want to watch videos and movies, so good video quality would be great.
My budget is $300, but that's flexible.
Recommendations are appreciate, and sorry if any of my questions seem silly, I really don't know much about netbooks.

- Netbooks don't have optical drives
For < $300, you'd have to look at 9" models. ~$350 start the 10" models.
- I purely recommend 10" netbooks. Sorry 1st generations.
Actually, Acer came out with a 10", 6cell for $330. It looks nice.

Also check out the ASUS EeePC and MSI Wind. Make sure you buy the models with a 6-cell battery.
They are all generally have the same hardware. The differences come in keyboard layout and design.
Good luck!

It was a gift, so I am not sure exactly how much it is but I think in the upper $300.
It has a 10 in screen, and it is so crisp and doesn't have that ugly screen joint like the Asus netbooks do.
The response is very snappy, can view websites, watch videos, play basic games.
I can fit the entire thing, with its sleeve, charger, and my little HP mini mouse, in my D&B bag
The sleeve that comes with it is very cheap and has a bad zipper. I'd suggest purchasing the HP netbook sleeve no matter what netbook you have. I have it and it feels and looks fabulous!
I did not like the Asus netbooks. Keyboard is TINY compared to the Wind and I already have tiny hands..
Oh my love, my love
In the quiet of the night
Let our candle always burn
Let us never lose the lessons we have learned.

Oh well, I want to buy a netbook, but do not know which one because there's so many to choose from @.@
The price range should be at around 550$
I've read a lot of reviews and found the top ones:
Hewlett-Packard 2133 Mini-Note
Asus EEE 1000HE
Asus EEE 1008H
Samsung N120
There are so many to choose from, and I want it to be light and the batteries should hold for awhile (more than 4-5 hours, the screen shouldn't be too small, I'm going to use it for uploading pictures, writing on blogs, watching youtube, etc. I'm mostly going to use it when I'm travelling to South Korea, England... My classmate had a netbook and I think it was from Acer (a cheap one) and I swear, it was SO noisy! Everyone in the class could hear the fan. I definitely DON'T want it to be noisy =) Aaaand I'm also looking a lot at the design.
Some others I've been looking at:
Dell Mini 10
HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam
Are there some you can recommend?
