Okay, I don't really know if I'm going to break any rules by posting this, but I checked the rules here and it doesn't state anything about not allowing polls, nor asking help for projects/feasib study.
So okay, I have this subject called New Market Development and my group needs to present a new market and defend it. We decided on presenting "Clothing line for lesbians" as our new market and now we are conducting surveys if such a market would actually make a profit.
Please answer the poll if you want to help me. Of course only lesbians can answerthe poll. I don't really know the percentage of lesbians in soompi or if there are even lesbians here. But if ever...(there is no harm trying).
I hope I wasn't rude to anybody. If this topic is not allowed or harms anybody please delete it. >.< I'm just a normal student hoping to find some proof so I can really defend my feasib study. T__T
I love anyone who would love to help me.

I'm a guy, don't ask why I clicked the link... But anyways, you should also open this up to bisexual / bi-curious girls, would make for much better results I should think.

hi there, i'm a straight girl who sometimes wears guy clothing
maybe you should widen your target consumers to girls of any sexual orientation who would be interested in wearing "guy" clothes that are in female sizes.

Okay, I'm not a lesbian, but I can already see the backlash from the gay community. (if it was real)
Anyway, from what I know lesbians like to wear regular female clothes just like straight women.
And the ones that don't... well there are straight girls who do it too. It's not like lesbians suddenly want to be like guys, just because they like women.
Also, the biggest difference between girls' and guys' clothing is the fit. If guy clothing was made to fit women, would that not be called women's clothing? (which already exists!) (Ofcourse you couldn't change women's clothing to fit guys, because of the colors/prints etc.. But women can like wear anything guys wear, especially if it's fitted.)

Yes, I agree. Not all lesbian women wear men's clothing, and I think that this thread encourages the stereotype of a lesbian woman, along with the various forms of slang derogatory words that go along with it.
Plenty of straight women wear men's clothing for various reasons - men's clothing may fit better, it may look better (depending on the style, the Ganji style among women in Asia is well-known), it may be cheaper (depending!)...etc.

I'm sorry if you think this thread encourages stereotyping of lesbian women.
I do not intend to stereotype lesbian women by saying that all of them wear guy clothes. Our group just want to focus on certain lesbians who do wear guy clothes because that's a niche market. =]

As much as we want to widen our target consumer, our professor wouldn't accept of the proposal because that won't be a new market anymore. A market already exists on producing such women clothing with guy clothes design. And the business we would put up will augment the "lesbian clothing" with supplementary services fitted especially to their needs. Of course, that wouldn't mean that girls cannot purchase the said product, we just want to focus on a certain market.
Thanks for responding. =D
