This is just ... high school drama. To the original poster, you do realise that the situation you describe is unnervingly what I would call 'aww that's sad oi'? Imagine the event play out from their point of view. They're there, doing their own 'horrid' thing because they have horrible attitudes, in their horrible corner. Then they see from the corner of their eyes, that mob of other Koreans, less fresh off the boat then they are... they're bound to have resentments and unjustified views towards you - just as you do. When you point them out, when you even turn to your friends and ssunshine (even though it may not be at them or about them) it just looks bad. To top it off your friend had to say something stupid like that ... urgh...

Immigrants need to be friendly with one and other... remember the fable about the frog who can't remember being a tadpole? I think that story fits in perfectly...

The story in question. I was going to PM it, but I think the original poster needs to be reminded of the moral of the story.



Long time ago there was a pond.

In the pond lived frogs.

In the pond there was a shallow alcove where grass grew.

There the frogs laid eggs and tadpoles hatched.

There the tadpoles waited until they became full frogs.

One day, a group of frogs came by and saw the eggs:
"ew they're so ugly! lol"

Next day, they came back and saw the tadpole hatchlings:
"ew they're so small! They have no legs!"

Every week they came back to mock the tadpoles for their un-froggy appearances and behaviour.

They were fooled when after a month, the tadpoles were fully grown frogs. Just like them.

With no frog saying a word, it was obvious that the frogs forgot they too were once small and ugly, legless tadpoles.

Morale of the story:
Empathise with others. As an immigrant you were in the same situation.

i did told my friend to shut up sigh, actually i was worried because I knew it was comming and I told my friend not to say anything ~ im quite frustrated..whatever I'm leaving the problem. and ignoring them for one..well thanks to those who gave me some help
