Miura Daichi, or just DAICHI, is the former lead singer of Folder, where he was dubbed "Japan's Smallest Soulman". His showbiz career began at the age of 9 when he wowed audiences with his slick dance moves and strong singing chops. Daichi took a break from the music business at the age of 12 when his voice began to change and members of Folder went on to become Folder5.
Now 21 years old, he is continuing his pop career. His first solo single entitled Keep It Goin' On was released by the avex trax label on March 30th 2005.

one of the things i love about "your love" is that it's r&b and not a ballad. a lot of the j-r&b artists i like will start out with r&b and then when they become popular (or comeback in daichi's case), they release a slew of super slow, boring songs. hopefully daichi will have a good mix of the two types!

no, Daichi is the only Japanese singer that can really dance. about the RnB thing, RnB is not big in Japanese and RnB singers single/album don't sale much which is why they switch to pop or ballad [with cheesy love lyrics best example Thelma Aoyama] .

ah, i thought so. i hadn't really seen any singers that could dance. i usually just see them doing really simple choreography or not dancing at all. or...doing some bad dancing. ;_;
yeah, aoyama thelma was exactly who i was thinking of (along with jay'ed) when i typed up that first reply. i loved her first few singles when she was kinda unheard of, but now that she's gained popularity, she's been releasing slow love song after slow love song. i wish she'd release an upbeat song at least. but like you said, r&b isn't that popular in japan, so it'd be better business wise to just keep releasing pop ballads.
but maybe this single will sell well for daichi since KREVA is featured on it...?

I'm currently obsessed with this guy right now.. can't stop playing Your Love in my ipod
I first knew about him from watching the youtube clip of him dancing to Chris Brown's song.. and I was just thinking to myself this dude can dance!! I've never seen a Japanese guy who can dance like him.. and then I decided to check out his other clips.. saw him perform DMC.. and I think I just fell in love hahaha.. when is he ever gonna have that song out as a single?? I'm dying to get that song!

My favorite song by him is super star though.
Favorite music video would be inside your head or flag.
DMC does need to be recorded and put on an album, along with the flag single, the inside your head single, the your love single, and there is news of a new song coming out in may~

Yeah, it's really rare to see Japanese singer who can sing AND dance. I like his dance moves in his PVs

I checked out the few links that were available but it wasn't enough to form an opinion just yet.
I like his live vocals though.
"It was tender and mild, like baby Jesus."

He's underrated. I always thought he's good.
He's from VisionFactory, I think.
And they're not promoting him very well...
like their other artists =/
(FLAME & Lead seems to be inactive...
but they're not. Their activities
are not really promoted that much.)
