Filling out my college application and just in case I don't get into firefighting maybe I could do something else till next year when I try for it again. I'm think Nursing or Fitness trainer.
Now the thing is, Firefighting is a 1 year course and the nursing and fitness is 2 years. If I were to not get into FF but got into one of the other 2, would I be able to pull it off doing FF and my last year in nursing/Fitness (if i were to get accepted into FF next year)?

It all depends on how focused you are and how the schedules will coincide. If you were to do firefighting and nursing/fitness simultaneously and the times worked out, do you think that you could handle the course load?
A standard load of course work in college doesn't seem to be that hectic, if that helps. I'm doing 21 hours currently and still have plenty of time to do other things. I guess it's about time management.

MWF PE, Biology (10:40 - 1:40 1 hour break in between)
TTh English (Chaucer), Chemistry, Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus (8:30 - 2:15 no breaks)
Wed Bio lab (2:30 - 5:30)
Th Chem lab (2:30 - 5:30)
Times don't include the time I need to drive there, usually 40 minutes.
But the normal course load is around 16-17 hours, so if you were to do that, you would get a little more free time I think.
I don't know what your schedule would be like. Would you have the classes all week for an hour, or one day for many hours?
