try to eat SLOWER. chew your food for longer (at least few more seconds) and swallow.
this should reduce your intake amount and the brain will actually have enough time to tell you that you are full before you over eat.

I don't really understand the feeling of "full" unless it's bloated, or else I feel like there is more room left in my stomach to eat. I'm going to try to portion my food though, like plan beforehand what I think is a filling amount, and then eat just that.

Try chewing your food 7-15 times, drinking a gulp of water every few bites ~ and giving yourself smaller portions. Also wait 20-30 minutes and see how you feel ~

1.) Listen to soft, slow music when eating. Will keep your heart rate down, keep your digestive process regular, and allow for better digestion.
2.) Eat slower. Try learning to eat continental style, it will really slow your rate and help you feel your intake better, plus if you ever get business professional, it's good to know.
3.) Portion your food out before you begin to eat. Don't eat out of the pot or directly from a cooking dish. Put it on a plate, and visualize the food; eat appropriate amounts, and when you've eaten enough, you've eaten enough. You don't need to feel bloated.
4.) Drink at least one full glass of water with each meal. Will improve digestion and help you control intake rate.
5.) Increase vegetable and fruit intake, reduce carbohydrate and protein intake.
Those are some starter points, I hope it helps =)
