I don't know if there is a thread for ghosts but if there is..please go ahead and close this thread.

Has anyone ever experienced an encounter with the paranormal. Actually, to make this more general, has anyone ever encountered an event so bizarre that simply logic could not explain the event.

I love a good ghost story but to hear personal experiences is even better! I have not personally encountered it before but I grew up on people telling me these crazy chinese folktales about having a ghost lie on top of you when you are sleeping so that you cannot move but your brain is still functioning. All that jazz, please share!

there is a forum about that ghost lying on top of you thing i think maybe in health and wellness called "sleep paralysis". That has happened to me a few times. Last time was last month where I think I'm awake yet I can't move or make a noise. I scream, yet no one hears me. Then i realize that I'm sleeping and then I try to make myself wake up and then i wake up.

I think I've seen a ghost. maybe. There was this house that was abandoned. The ground floor windows and doors were boarded up but in the second storey window, I can see a little boy staring outside. I don't think it was any neighbourhood kids sneaking into the house cause the doors and windows were boarded up..

yeah.. i don't have any really scary stories.

I used to not believe in that stuff until I started encountering things that I can't logically explain. The last time I had the strangest experience was during the time my aunt was dying from cancer. For a while there, I had what seemed to be a passenger in my back seat. Like when I look in the rear mirror, I can see a figure sitting there but I wasn't that scared because it didn't give me any bad vibe. It seemed more like it wanted me to know it was there, just not there to harm me. And after we finally put my aunt to rest, the thing left me alone. So my mom said that it could have been just my aunt knowing she was leaving but wanting to spend a little more time with me. If that was the reason, I could understand why she would do that since I didn't spend as much time as I wanted with her; and out of all her nieces, I seem to be the one she like best.

i dont recall encountering things that i can't logically explain but i've heard of a story. so i was driving my friend's car (he's the passenger) down brea canyon road south bound 11 pm or later. all of a sudden...

him "EY EY TURN THIS SHIIIT AROUND GO BACK"
me "?"
him "DUDE TURN AROUND I SAW SOMETHING"
me "O_O NO"
him "i saw a bride and like 20-30 people in a bond fire but there's no cars"
me "FCUK NO IM NOT TURNIN AROUND"
friend in the back seat "what happened?" (she was sleeping so we explained the situation)

then couple days later...

friend "hey remember what he said he saw that night? i told my friend and she said her cousin said the same thing"

now... my friend and the cousin are completely strangers and the story are from different nights... so i conclude what he saw was real... and i dont like these things so i told my entire family never drive on that road after sunset.

In the condo that I lived in, there's a landing that seperates the living room from the entry hallway and the stairs are where the entry hallway is. I had the tv in the living room on and nobody was home. I went upstairs to start a bath and came downstairs to turn off the tv. I hadn't even stepped off the stairs onto the landing yet and the tv turned off and the remote flew across the coffee table and landed at the bottom of the landimng.

I took off real quick and dragged my mothers diviner over to clense my house.

how could you tell it was a figure? was there any facial features and body shape?

yes, the whole figure. there was a head for sure but the facial features were faint; i could see through it to the seat.

I won't elaborate too much, but after my grandmother died, my father would hear loud noises every morning in our attic, like loud knocking on the wood for a few minutes then it would stop. When he went up to check, he would see nothing. And, he would notice a dark crow hitting the attic window from the outside, at about the same time the knocking was happening (the knocking sound is not due to the crow). My parents were scared so they started praying daily to ask for my grandmother to rest in peace (because from what they told me, she was about to move in with us forever, but passed away right before she could), and the knocking eventually stopped after a month. My dad strongly believed it was her spirit manifesting from her wish that was taken away from her.

I don't really believe in ghost, anything closely related to it I just go to sleep or tell myself it was all a dream. Im much more afraid and have a great fear or Zombies more than ghost. hah

well, once i was talking on the phone with my ex (then bf) and suddenly this male voice started like growling and it grew louder and louder until it turned into like a scream, and i had to take the phone off my ear. it wasn't him (his voice is totally different), and he said no one else was at home, and i only had sisters at my house too so they couldn't have done it. to this day i can't explain that, but... i'm looking for an explanation. ^^;

as long as i don't remember that story, i don't believe in ghosts.

a similar event happened to my friend. After his grandfather passed away, his family would hear someone walking in their backyard everyday. the footsteps weren't too loud but the footsteps were slow at a slow pace. And it happened everyday until his dad had decided to put up a portrait of his dad (my friends grandfather) in the living room. the walking stopped and never heard it again.

I've seen spirits, yes. Many of my animals, and when I was at my dad's father's funeral--my uncle and my mother's father--both had passed on a few years earlier. My mother saw them also.

i always view soompi. but never reply. i made account to reply to this, lol.

i had a few strange things that have happened.

#1 long story short me & my ex gf broke each others heart.
1-2 months after we broke up, i came back from going to the
club with my friends, i went to sleep and i woke up, in the
middle of my room there she was my ex gf sitting on my chair
looking at me with a tattoo of a rose on her hand ( she doesn't
have a tattoo ) and she was transparent, and then a tear drop
fell from her eye, and then a tear drop fell from my eye, and
then she disappeared, then i smoked a cigarette & went to sleep.

i think we find our own meanings to whatever happens that we
cannot explain. or maybe there are permanent meanings to ..
whatever happens that cannot be explained. but it's not really
fair who gets to decided, lol.

#2 i was curious and stopped by a new age store, and they had a
workshop or free class, so i signed up. the class was mirror magic.
and pretty much the instructor was a wican i recall, so she turns
the lights off, lights a candle, does a spell to the mirror. & one by
one everyone goes, then its my turn ( & i am very excited to see
what's going to happen ) so she tells me what to do which is to
stare into the mirror at my left eye. then after a while nothing is
happening & then my face disappears & i see an native american.
then i got really freaked out & jumped. then it went away. it was
definitely strange. everyone in the class saw it also.. i was like oox

so then i was still curious about how it worked. so i tried it at home
without the spell & everything. same thing happened. my face
disappeared & i saw a very different shade of blue that i cannot
identify other then type of blue & it was a very beautiful creature
that i am kinda leaning toward the word.. alien. not monster ......

i wasn't scared. i was kind of like ooo sooooo pretty. hii, lol.. i felt safe.

but i don't really have an answer to all of this stuff. i tried searching
but in the end, you have to continue living life. but you learned a bunch
of cool stuff along the way.

when I was living in my old old apartment...my bed would anonymously shake at nnight.....literally shake..it wasn't against the wall or window..because i thought maybe there must be some rough up and down going on downstairs or something , but that didnt stop it. So first couple of nights it happen, I ran into my siblings room, sat on their bed to see if their beds shake...nope...So i asked them to sleep on my bed...NO shakes....they leave..I go back to sleeping on the bed...sHakes again ...but I got use to it and eventually moved out. Then overheard from crazy spooks from the tenants downstairs about the house .

THE SCARIEST EXPERIENCE
2nd encounter, would be my parents home (after the apartment). I was so tired from track practice, so I decided to sleep in earlier..about midnight....I woke up to a figure....I thought she was my mom!!! I hear my siblings laughing in the living room, and the t.v show itself...So, I tried to snuggle and hug my supposedly mom! only to find that I cant move...and I can't see any further outlines or features of The figure, after my night vision had adjusted to the dark room! It started laughing/giggling and saying stuff in a language I don't understand...I freaked! I started trying to move, struggling and then shutting my eyes calling for help from whomever is up in heaven! then I finally was able to move and when I open my eyes again..the figure is gone and I ran out of my room and my siblings all looked at me like ? what???!!! did we wake you up?!

You guys all have very interesting experiences!

Unfortunately, I don't have any that are quite as compelling.

The only "spirits" that I've ever encountered were those at a bar.
Not that this story counts or that this is the type to raise fear, but I suppose after seeing enough of the kinds of spirits I dealt with at the bar, a lot of scary things would happen a few hours later.

Things like how I would start seeing things and it would scare me so much that I'd poop my bedsheets later that night.

Once, I groggily woke up with my room in disarray and my poopy bedsheets strewn across the floor.
My hungover roommate at the time came into the room, saw the soiled bedsheets, and said, "That must have been some fight you had with a ghost. You literally beat the crap out of him!"
