Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) will be broadcasting a new drama featuring Emergency Unit (E.U.) which is an upcoming sequel of The Academy & On the First Beat. E.U. is representing Hong Kong police force. The first episode is set to air in February 2009 on Jade and High-Definition Jade Channels from Monday to Friday.

The drama is a direct sequel to The Academy and On The First Beat.

It will not be like Burning Flame at all.

It will continue the storyline with both Ron and Sammul character's moving into new division.

Kong Sei Lao (Michael Miu) has just returned to Hong Kong from Taiwan and wants to quickly find is daughter Yau Yau (Elanne Kong) to mend their relationship and also plan revenge. He pretends to surrender to Do Yik Tin (Lum Lei) who caused him to be jailed. On the other hand police officer Cheung Lap Man (Ron Ng) has been assigned a special assignment and good friend and police officer Lei Pak Kiu (Samuel Chan) are like a family. Pak Kiu continues to be strong and continues to be friends with Lap Man but Lap Man can only help the police investigate this case further in order to capture Sei Lao by becoming an undercover cop. But when evidence had proven the guilt of Sei Lao and Lap Man managed to have a good relationship with Sei Lao the police force did not let him reveal his real disguise yet wanting him to continue on being an undercover cop and so during this time Lap Man becomes one of Sei Lao’s people and turns his back on the police force….

Yik Tin keeps a close watch on Sei Lao but purposely shows that he trusts Leung Siu Tong (Michael Tse) more and intentionally puts him in a high position but Sei Lao has all the information to be able to plan the revenge and uses Yik Tin’s wife Ching Yeuk Yui (Kathy Chow) in the organization as an influence to help Sei Lao up the ranks. But when he thought that he was in control, his drug dealing business failed and Sei Lao discovers that the people he trusted the most betrayed, tricked and used him….

To be honest I think you should watch the others before watching this since the others does
tell you more in depth of their characters and their past, etc. the storyline is all connected.
The Academy started it all like how the characters know each other, their problems and their personality
and then the second one continue and you can see how the character change and the problems in part 1
affects them still in that sequel and in E.U. the characters will still have conflicts especially Sammul Chan
character, Pak Kiu.

I recommend that you watch part 1 and 2 since its all connected plus I enjoy watching them

i don't really enjoy watching ron act anymore
and i was kind of disappointed with "on the first beat"
they're spending so much money on..this series though
so maybe its worth watching xD

yes he did died in part 1 (Pak Kiu's father) but in this one he plays a new different character. His character is a gang leader. When Ron and Sammul saw him they thought he was Lee Sir but realized that this person is a gang leader. This will also bring conflict toward Sammul's character because this man whom is a criminal carries the face that looks like his father the writers decided to add him back in again because they want to stir up some personal issues between the characters in the show

I watch the first episode and I enjoyed it to be honest, I sorta like it more better than On The First Beat. The guys grew mature (well Sammul's character) and they change alot.
