I knew I was expecting this to end when I got to my college or around some time then, with like still the last 2 episodes left. Oh well - not that it matters, really, for me now that I'm like a billion episodes behind.

Okay, I feel like I should defend wuxia/historical Chinese dramas: personally, I like them, and they are really good, but that doesn't justify it saying that they're the only good dramas - point & case: Who Controls My Youth & Fen Dou/Struggle. And this. And others. But on the other side, that doesn't mean condemnation of those dramas, because some are actually really good. Just... for the record.

It didn't leak, the DVD was released a little a few days ago. So some people have it already and uploaded it.

I have to agree. I love ancient/wuxia dramas, actually alot more than idol dramas. Jing Yong is probably my favorite Chinese writer of all time and of course my favorite has to be LOCH. hehe

I think it's because they are more popular and are more well known. And that's why people tend to watch them only. But I agree that they aren't the only good dramas in China.

It's because they're based off very famous novels known by Chinese all over the world, so the names themselves interest those people. But these same people don't branch out into finding other stuff.

And it doesn't help that the satellite channels most Chinese get *cough CCTV4* is not representative of Chinese tv.

That's very true. But you have to admit that Jing Yong is an amazing writer. And although I don't mind the different adaptions, but people tend to think that that's all China does is make different adaptions of these dramas. Lol yea CCTV4 usually plays ancient dramas. I think over time though, China's entertainment industry will get bigger and more recognized and more and more people will dive into more than just what's on the surface. Even I admit that I watch alot more ancient dramas than modern ones. Haha habit I guess.

Yeah....Jing Yong is amazing. And Zhang Jizhong is an amazing cinematographer whose remakes of his works I would not mind watching at all.

It's the unwillingness of people to branch out beyond Jing Yong or wuxia that I dislike very much, although they will gladly branch out into non-Chinese modern dramas.

Zhang Han completely delivered, but I had expected him to. Zheng Shuang I totally underestimated.

It was beautiful. You know...I don't even need a sequel. The emotion that was there, in that scene...it was enough. I loved the music too. Only if they can top that in the ending to the sequel.
