Parts that got edited out. Apparently Zhang Han and Zheng Shuang first saw each other at the screen-test (interview/audition) already. ZH noticed her and thought she was very suitable for the role and even thought, "What a good feel(ing) it would be if we were to collaborate" rofl. Then after he landed the role as Yunhai, he kept wondering if she ("that girl") would get the role of Yuxun or not.. then it turns out she really did get the role (!!). And they talk about some other things too..

actually i'm the same, i didn't think it was THAT good, to say the truth, this is my least fave version BUT i still like it. thank god the OST is good, i think for a drama to have more appeal, the OST gotta be godo that why so many kdramas are so good to me.

I wouldn't consider it "that" big of a hit...certainly not the biggest thing in Chinese television

Even among Hunan shows, it's influence is far beyond that of Super Girls, Super Boys, Ugly Wudi, Qia Tong Xue Shao Nian and the classic Princess of Returning Pearl.

It's easy to see that Zhang Han haven't gained nearly the amount of fans that Chen Chusheng (or Su Xing...or Zhang Jie...or even Wei Chen) did from Super Boys.

For another, outside of Hunan, it's not even the most successful show of the year. My Youth (wo de qing chun shui zuo zhu) is much more highly rated. And it was broadcasted at 8:00 and not that 10:30, when more people watch TV. Everyone in my family, from my middle-school cousins to my grandparents has seen My Youth. I'm the only one who's seen Meteor shower.

I consider the success of Meteor Shower another by Hunan TV. It was the success of Hunan TV to make the show famous, not vice versa.

I think that given the quality of the drama, it deserved every single one of its viewers and fans.

However, I do think compared to dramas like My Youth, the fandom may seem unevenly distributed...but the success of this is more important. Long Danni and eeMedia is still based on innovation. Zhang Baogang is annoying me with using the same people over and over again when the quality of his dramas alone is enough to bring in all the viewership.

And again, although more popularized overseas and deservedly so, the fandom of this in mainland is great, but not bigger than many of Hunan TV's other shows, like Super Girls, Super Boys and Princess of Returning Pearl...and Qia Tong Xue Shao Nian, best Hunan show ever!
