Uhhh... Well, I don't speak a word of Mandarin or Cantonese or any Chinese dialects for that matter (is the series in Mandarin?), and I'm still adjusting to hearing so much of the language (the same applied to the Korean version) buuuuuuuuut why does Zhang Han's voice sound so much deeper than that audio clip that was posted a few pages ago; I thought they only dubbed Yu Haoming's and Zheng Shuang's??
I'm also quite surprised with Zheng Shuang's dubbed voice - I find it quite a bit higher than what I expected (coming from someone who is not familiar with the language, mind you ^^")
Which reminds me... Why did they even dub in the first place? If their speech is understandable, I really don't see how accents can matter "". They do tend to grow on you, like Yu Haoming's hair.

I must say that
1) WE SAW IT! The sun didn't come out of nowhere like with the Japanese version xDDD
2) There was movement! MOVEMENT I TELL YOU! And it wasn't just him trying to swallow her face in one go like with the Korean version!! 8D
3) The punch and fall looked sorta realistic!

And I sorta agree with Redrac; I'm already beginning to like Zhang Han's character ^^. From what I've seen, that boy seems to know how to act xDDD.

Brightlight already said it's not true. Highschoolers don't wear red ties. I'm sick of everyone thinking this show is so commie-influenced after they read the synopsis of it being inspirational.

I hate the director, hate the producer. The screenwriter seems to be good, but the director and producer are wrecking this! Why couldn't Hunan use their own ones without crazy ideas? What is the point of getting professional actors like Zhang Han and Zheng Shuang if they're taking away their voices and getting stupid dubbers who can't act? What's the point of using Haoming to draw in his fans, if they're going to be turned off by his new voice?

If their stupid ideas ruin this, I will be skipping this and going straight to Ugly Wudi: Season 3 which looks AWESOME. They got back their first season director for season 3, and he did a great job letting everyone deliver nuanced performances in season 1, USING THEIR OWN VOICES. And it's going to be a musical, which is what they should have done with this.

Haha is it just me or the more i look at mvs and seeing the characters in motion, the more i find myself falling for zhu zixiao?! he looked really weird in pictures, but so far he's looking really good in the trailors and mvs and definitely improving in the pictures of them while they're acting. :] haha and i still have trouble imagining zhang han as a mean guy. he seems too nice in all the clips, but he seems like a really good actor, so we'll see

ok the trailer with the voices...

im pretty much not liking the dub now. all their voices sound like the official announcers on tv with absolute perfect pronunciation. its a little creepy to listen to. and when yunhai shouts on top of that hot air balloon, the shouting voice sounds funny too. and the confession @_@ that sounds a little forced and awkward, even though the acting seems pretty good. T___T whyyy?!?!?

All the characters seem to be looking good and acting so far in the trailers and MV's

I thought that about the balloon scene the voice was dead high pitch and it didn't fit. The acting does seem to be pretty good but their spoiling it with dubbing. All of the natural voices sound a lot better.

*sigh* Nothing has diminished my enthusiasm towards the series since day one, not even Yu Haoming's hair. Because I had faith in two things: the scriptwriter and the acting of the leads. And to some extent the music. And those three things can definitely be good enough together to make a good show. And so far those three things seemed ok, until I the dubbing revelation, which was something that never occurred to me. I'm just so afraid it'll ruin the acting.

And now I feel like joining the group of people mad that Ugly Wudi 3 is premiering later so that Meteor Shower can air. I love the acting in Ugly Wudi.

I don't know...dubbing isn't necessarily bad. I thought Liu Yifei was a heck of a lot better dubbed for Return of the Condor Heroes because she had a baby voice that really would have thrown the 1000 year old character off. But here it seems pointless.


Side Note: Wei Chen gets hit in this series a lot. I guess if he's not afraid of his brother (played by Jerry Huang who's like 1.9 something m and has put on lots of weight) then he certainly wouldn't be afraid of Yundou's finacee.

1. Ye SHuo/Wei Chen's
wtf? He has the loudest voice of them all, when Ye Shuo should be soft-spoken but seductive.

2. Yu Haoming
Same problem...so clear and loud...his character, imo, should be more seductive and also a bit soft.

I'm glad they dubbed Zhu Zixiao and Zhang Han, though. Especially Zhang Han's voice, which is too high-pitched for a male lead.

ZHu Zixiao's song (the one with Wei Chen's trailer) is...his voice isn't that great.

oh, and I think their episode of "the world's women" is airing today.

Well, the two that I cared most about were the two leads, because they're more important and good acting hinges on them. Not cool if they're promoting Zhang Han and don't think he can be a serious male lead with his own voice. I like it.

That being said, the Xing Kong Wu Yu trailer did make me impressed with how pretty it all is. They really took advantage of the gorgeous scenery in Xiamen and Shenzhen.

I reallly like the mood of the whole drama. Very, very cute and romantic. I know this isn't Meteor Garden... but
te Taiwanese one, probably because of the filming, was a bit blank. The Japanese one had a darker tone to it. The Korean one had the luxurious clothes, but the mood went with the Taiwanese one, with an empty splendor. This one is overwhelmingly cute. I love the filming and the colors of the video.

The scene I like the least is the party scene with Zhang Han's horrible hair...I don't know how they'll fix that.

I don't know about Zheng Shuang's dubber yet. I think her natural voice was pretty cute, if a bit accented. The dubber is more clear, which may be good. But it's also not as cute. And I think Dongbei accents are perfect for strong girls. XD

Finally, I think Yu Haoming's hair changes throughout the drama, so yay...!!!! I like his hair straight, but im ok with it curly too.

I don't like Wei Chen's character's new name...Ye Shuo > Ye Shuo. The current Shuo is so mundane. The old Shuo matches perfectly with "Ye." Leaves and the new moon...so pretty. It's also a fairly obscure character that just looks cooler. The current "shuo" is the shining "shuo," which is overused.

Originally, he had the best name of the four, now he has the worst name.

I really wish they didn't get a Taiwanese idol director. Taiwanese idol series are ok, but the cute aspect doesn't mesh well. I guess I thought the acting would be one way, more like Ugly Wudi, and now I'm worried.

I want Zhang Feng...director of Ugly Wudi Season 1 and 3. And he should bring the nice wardrobe from there while he's at it.

Ughhh I hate YHMs voice so much, it doesn't match his character at all
Plus it makes it seem less real because no one sounds like that in real life

Are they going to release them one by one? This show wins hands down for the most trailers ever.

My favorites so far are the one with the fake opening theme and the real opening theme. The first made it looks cute, and the second made it look grand, with all the pretty locations. They'll probably come out with a full version of the second one closer to the drama air date right?

Anyone else find Zheng Shuang's expression in picture amusing?

i love watching the new trailers especially the zhang han(bias ^.^) one...i like the air balloon scene, the rain scene and the classroom scene where he has an opened book but was instead like a dork/lovesick looking to zheng shuang then when she looked at him he immediately covered his face with the book-so like domyouji...

i wish they didnt sub it coz i wanted to hear zhang han's own voice while acting as domyouji...coz im really excited to hear his bad jokes/chinese/mandarin...i feel that if it is dubbed the essence of it will be lost(i dont know if i make sense ^.^)

but still looking forward to watching this series...
