Didn't the taiwanese version already used the name meteor rain for its spin off where it focused on the stories of jerry, vanness and ken!! but anyway i find it slightly amusing i did think it was just a matter of time before china will do its version of hana yori dango!! i think couple of years time the western countries like USA will do a movie version or drama version of it too hehe!!

hm... i dont usually watch series from china but for the sake of my love for hana yori dango i might check it out!! since i have seen all the other versions guess one more wouldn't hurt!! i do still think hana yori dango has a good storyline= meteor garden was my FIRST drama series and i will still say one of my favourite considering when it was shown we didn't have as much fancy technologies and setting and compared to the japanese and korean one obviously it will look less modern and extravagant (i mean just look at the mobile phones in meteor garden compared in hana yori and B.O.F time has moved on)
but i think if china really wanted to make it as success then they have the budget to do so- just hope the actors and actresses are good.

yeah one hana yori dango for each country... ..enough is enough !!! ok cinderella story works but come on, if they are not gonna make the same story so why bothered to say it is a hana yori dango! I thought Mainland china has always made original story into drama but now I am so angry with them about it...

plus the title meteor rain..is that to say that meteor garden is old now so lets make another meteor garden anew...arff yeah give me a red car but for god sake there is so many good story around richguy falling in love with poor girl to film..why absolutely Hana Yori Dango...WHY WHY WHY..they are killing this story and this manga!!!!!

I was OK with the taiwanese version because I tought it is original story..then the Japanese; I was absolutely agree since the manga was japanese one so it was a good deal that they made it..I was soso with the korean one but with korean style it became very interesting to watch...but come on how could you possibly remake a remake from a remake ...


Ok I am done with my frustration and it really kill me but I will eyes it cos I have to make my real point of view base on the drama itself

I'm no Long Danni (EE Media CEO), but here's my take on it.

With the new EE Media's drama department, it needs to take on a previously well-known drama to attract attention from non-Super Boy fans. However, most of the more popular ones are love triangles and involve two main lead guys but EE Media, with its overabundance of hot guys, needs more lead guys in a drama so that it can both use its own people and find new ones. Hana Yori Dango and Hana Kimi are the only two well-known dramas that have an excess of male leads. Hana Kimi is out because the last Chinese-languaged version of that was only two years ago, while the last Chinese-languaged version of Meteor Garden was 9 years ago. Thus, out of all the dramas, Hana Yori Dango is probably the best choice for EE Media.

And really, if you're frustrated, don't watch it. No one's forcing you to.

LOLZ! when will the remake of this series end? It seems like every asian country is making their own version and it's kinda getting boring... I mean there are other mangas that they could make into a series why do they have to do this again and again.

This is my first time to post a pic on soompi! I hope I did it good! Anyway, I'm not familiar with chinese actors, could somebody please tell me who they are, and what's their role in the drama (using their names in manga)?

*sigh* none of those faces caught my eyes though . When they showed the whole BOF cast, my jaw just dropped, all of them are very good looking. I think it's gonna take me a while to get used to with the Meteor Rain casts.

They should have waited a couple more years at least, so fans can recover from BOF addiction, but oh well.. I wish this version a good luck though!

As a highly biased Wei Chen fan...

I just want to say that Wei Chen is very not photogenic. He's so much better looking in 3-D....especially when he sings, and when he smiles, and when he smiles while he sings .

Same for Haoming. I think Haoming's even less photogenic.

And since Meteor Rain is a drama and not a photobook, people should judge them in videos first before in pictures.

I'm saving my patience from the Korean version for this version, lol. Tbh, when I think of Mainland China dramas, it seems like all they do well at is wuxia/ancient dramas, so I hope this HYD version will change that. I'm glad that they changed the plot too. The old one sounds too cliche. :3 And at least now, they have some originality. But I hope they have some good stylists to spruce all the guys up, lmao. A couple of them aren't very good looking... And I'm disappointed that Wei Chen gets a smaller role. D: He's cute.

But reallllllly. Tooo much reproduction right? First Taiwan then Japan. Not biggie still. Because Taiwan made it first and the story belong to the Japanese, but reallly did they need to do a Korean version and a Mainland version? What next? A Philipines version and Viet version? Why not a Thai one too? lol This is even crazier then the Wuxia film reproductions.

On the side note, I think the Mainland Version has the hottest guys! 万岁China! This gonna be one hot drama. I never really paid attention to Taiwan version Meteor Garden because I didn't like Jerry Yan much. Can't wait for the girl to be revealed.
