Why Are Most Pop Fans So......dense?

Seriously though. It seems like theres alot of praising on here on pretty average, bland, majorly edited vocals - mainly in the kpop section. I mean we're all aware that K-POP has very low standards when it comes to their pop music, majority of the singers and idol groups lip synch or use backtrack and let's just say there is no Mariah, Whitney, or even Beyonce of Kpop lol - and yes, all three of those women are POP singers in America.
Can someone please tell me why though, why are these die hard pop fans praising these below average pop groups and singers as if they're supreme vocalist? do some people just deny editing - lip synching and major backtrack and just an overall average voice with little real quality or are some people really just that dumb..? I don't understand it at all.. lol
And then you have those pop jokes like whats her face trying to make it in the US even though American pop singers are expected to atleast sing live.
It's just amazing...I mean you have people calling the most retarded songs "amazing" or "original" when all they're doing is repeating a word and repeating corny lyrics that have no meaning, that they didn't write either. LOL.
Amazing.

And if you're talking about BoA in the United States, she does sing live. It's not like everyone in K-pop lip syncs all the time. Who's to say American singers don't lip sync at times as well?
I agree that some fans are just unbelievable, but for different reasons than you. I dunno, but you might either get rude replies or none at all with the way you worded your topic starter.

Everyone has their own opinion and taste of music. One person might be in love with this group and the person on the other side of the room wants to throw daggers at the group. And I'm proud to say Big Bang, After School and SNSD are amazing

But Se7en's song "Girlz," I'm trying to understand his point, sure you like girls but...what are you trying to tell us? your not one of those girly boys that DBSG made some of us believe (sorry they were the only person that came to mind when i said that). Boa's eat you up.. uh i dont know what she's saying.
But the biggest thing that bugs me most is when people claim that the Korean artists sang a certain song first when another American artists came out with it first (i.e. Big Bang -She'll be Loved (06-07?) vs Maroon 5 -She'll be loved ('95 or or later))

Pop in america now is dominated by these emo groups, American Idol winners and these Singer Songwriters that most are one album wonders.
American Idol singers ALL have pre-fabricated pop music. Even Rock groups now go to songwriters to get their songs. So when the American (that includes european) stop doing these things THEN u can talk about Kpop.
Also On the singing... u need to be more specific cuz Hwanhee, Lena Park, SG Wannabe, VOS and a lot of other singers can give a run for their money to American POP singers too.

You're also overestimating American pop music as an entire genre. There are good and terrible singers in America, just like in any part of the world.
Some fans can be pretty deluded when trying to defend their fav artists, I have to admit, but you sound like a douche. So I guess both sides are even.

I mean I see many artists being debuted and can't even sing.
I mean honestly, if you can't sing live, you can't sing.
I also get very disappointed too when my favorite artists doesn't sing live.
Especially when I know that they can too.
Such as DBSK or SS501, etc.
However, I'm not quite sure why we as fans are so crazy over them. LOL.
I think it's because they do a lot of things and we get to see their personalities and we love them through that.
But some American artists does suck at live too.
And I'm not sure about the lipsynching though.

The KPOP entertainment business and how everything is in it - is a little different compared to others standards, okay?
So what if sometimes they only sing live to 50-60% of their songs? It's just all about entertainment - love it or leave it, no need to judge it...
Not everybody is gonna have a liking for KPOP, and just because there are people who like KPOP - it does not make them "dense".
And did you just call BoA a joke? That may offend some of her fans.

You don't have to like a group just for their voice, there are many other factors that contribute to their popularity

I agree.
Hm, Funny. I've always thought that Mariah and Whitney were R&B singers.
Guess not.
But like other people have said,
It's their stage presence and charisma we admire as well.
And I think you're generalizing a bit.
Sure we have those KPop groups that are only famous because they're good looking and have great promotions,
but DBSK has written their own songs, as well as Big Bang.
And honestly, the reason why I'm a DBSK fan is because they can SING.
Same goes for FTTS, SG Wannabe, and SeeYa.
But yeah, there are groups out there that can't sing...
And we're not praising, or at least I'm not, their vocals,
But the song is just catchy. It doesn't have to have perfect vocals in order for a song to be catchy.
Maybe you're someone who likes songs because of wonderful vocals,
But everyone has their own tastes on what kind of music they like.
But maybe some fans are in denial that their favorite kpop artists cant sing.
But like I said before, it's what they like.
Maybe they actually really like the voices.
Not everyone has the ears of a musician.
I love how you waited only around 20/30 minutes before answering your own thread.

Of course I appreciate and respect American artists and their music too. But it's just Korean artists that stole my heart, not only through music but through everything they have done. To me, these groups aren't merely pop singers who are just here to give us awesome music. They're human individuals whom I love, respect and cherish. It may be weird and strange to you but I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Many american artists lipsync all the time. -__-
Everyone has their own opinion on an artist, you know ..
You may not think they can sing, but others may think they can. Heh.
Just because fans like a group, that you don't think can sing or a group that doesn't sing live, does not mean they are "dense"
Not everyone is perfect ..
If you only want artists that sings live all the time, you're just asking that more than half the celebrity population [in the music industry, all over the world] be gone.
And some of the people's comments here about other artists[like Boa & Se7en] are really .. rude.
If you don't like their music, don't listen to it. Keep the rude comments to yourself.

And when I see a artist (regardless if they have weird lyrics, digital voice, and repeated beats) perform, I see their charisma, stage presence, and how they bring themselves in the stage. Because nowadays if I see a artist that has amazing vocals, they're stage presence is really boring, dull, no emotion, or just sound like every other artist. Nowadays, when I see singers imitating other artists it just doesn't get exciting . Maybe that's why we see different styles in kpop regardless if some are the talentless or extremely talented. This can also apply to the American industry as well.
For me, I used to be hardcore fans of my favorite artists, but I guess I grew older I just listen to their music rather than their life and cooled down my obsess level. I guess I don't really care about the lyrics just as long the music is nice and catchy to listen to (nowadays I don't even listen to slow (ballad) songs.)
Also, i'm quite glad theres no other artists that sound like christina, whitney, mariah etc because then we would have too many clones and it just becomes a cycle. Maybe thats why theres a variety for different people to listen to (shrugs).

I SWEAR that..I will change the world.."

Agreed haha!
Everyone has their own music preference. A lot now just like music because it's catchy and stuff. Voice isn't something that really matters anymore because now artists need the package of looks, charisma, etc. If voice was all that mattered then you wouldn't be seeing artists such as Rihanna in the market. I think the standard for an artist with the voice has gone down over the years and it's not only Kpop.

Yes, K-Pop artists lipsync often on DANCE tracks. When they are DANCING. When they get out of breath because they are working their butts off up on that stage dancing and putting on a good show for their fans. And who cares if they lipsync once in a while? What matters is they did sing it at one time or another.
I take offense at the fact that you call pop fans dense. We're not all idiots or completely shallow. We know when they are lipsyncing and we sometimes get disappointed at this fact, but we still love them. We're dedicated. It's just like when someone is a die hard fan of one particular sports team. Whether they win or lose, they still love 'em.
And WHO cares if they write their own lyrics? If they can, more power to them. But do you think Mariah and Whitney wrote all of their own songs? Ha! No way!
For someone who came in here purposely to start something (cause, let's face it, that's why you started this topic) you don't know your stuff very well.
