1.how Obama's election might not actually affect much the racism in the country
2.Giving this whole thing now with Octomom --> what does this whole thing tells us about our new family vaues or/ how tv/magazine's take on the subject can shape people's perceptions, opinions of someone.
3. many koreans studying in usa/canada or even living there are often said to be clicky and only want to stay within their own race - to what extent can this be called racism
4. how stupid people are = not too long ago it was all about the environment, now its all about the economy. Does that mean that now the environment is not the hot topic anymore so its will be relatively forgotten?
5. why is pokemon still so awesome after all these years? ^^

Forgot the last one haha Just some ideas like that :-p I like to octomom ones haha

LOL. my teachers are like no abortion, no legalization of illegal drugs, no global warning, etc...

what are you passionate about?
talk about that.

an issue at your school that you don't like?
on-campus housing... CRAPPPY wireless connection.

How about teenage drinking or the legal drinking age. Those are always good topics.

- why you deserve an A in the class/on this speech (see syllabus, how well of a speaker you are, etc)
- why you shouldn't drink coffee (or w/e. look into health effects)
- why you shouldn't wear flip flops (health effects again)
- why you shouldn't buy a prius (harmful environment impact, something..)

i did a speech on why you shouldnt wear fur last year, i got a b- because i forgot to cite a lot of sources but its a pretty powerful topic if you give statistics like, i dont know, it takes like 24 rabbits to make a fur coat (or something like that!). like people i didnt even know would ask me if i was the one who did that speech even this year.

so anyways that might be a good idea if youre looking for something a little less generic:]

i did my persuasive speech on "allowing nap time at work" which is already occurring in Asia and Australia. it's a funny topic and it gets the class interested. :]

I did a persuasive speech on why South Park is a great teacher of values and morals. It was a fun speech much different from what everyone else did. My Professor loved it and I got an A.

so because i'm one of the last ones to present, most of the topics are used already (including most of the ones posted here). so i resorted to use why violent video games shouldn't be banned, but the only argument i can think of is there's no actual evidence that says that violent video games leads to aggressive behavior. can anyone help me think of some more arguments for this topic?
