Ugh yah! So I dropped my phone into a sink of water. (VX8550) I quickly grabbed it, taking the battery out and went to dry it off and like when I thought it was dry enough I plugged it back in to charge and weird stuff happened like the screen and buttons wouldn't function right and omg x__X the sound was TERRIBLE. Then I rushed onto the computer to check out YT for some videos on how to fix a water damaged phone. I did as they said. Take everything out dry it off then blew dry some moisture off then put inside a sealed container with rice. Yah so I did it. Left it over night. This happened on like Thursday night and I checked my phone today. Everything is all fine now but omg.... Only buttons that DON'T work would be my: "OK" button on the spin dial, #'s 3/7/0
Ugh... So what to do guys? Get a new phone? I dunno if we still have insurance on the phone but I remember if you wanna replace WITH the insurance it costs like $50 more.
Here are options.... Which are best "IN YOUR OPINION"
1. Replace phone
2. Get a new phone = $$$$$
3. Switch providers (Verizon ---> ???)
And which phone providers are best? Verizon (currently have now), Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile? Which seem... Affordable, have more phone selections, reliable, well priced with good features.

Same situation happened to me. I dropped my phone in the washer back in April '08
I finally brought it to a phone tech store to have them open & clean it
It worked fine for a while but then the buttons stopped working
I think your best bet is to purchase a new phone
It might be beyond fixable
But yeah, the guy told me that if a phone is dropped in water to remove everything and place it into a plastic sandwich bag with a lot of those packs of beads that suck out moisture & to leave it in there for a few days before reassembling
