Hey guys, I'm quite a n00b at this whole cellphone thing.
I saw a phone on Gmarket I'm REALLY interested in!
But do I have to sign up for Korea's cell phone plan and all that to get the phone?
Or is it unlocked that I can use it in USA & just put my sim card in and it'd work for AT&T?
I can't read korean so I'm not sure how this cell things works ><

But then if I don't buy from Gmarket, and buy a Japanese phone or any other Korean phone, would they still work in US? Or does it depend on GSM?

Because Korean cell phones only work in Korea, you can't really use them here unless you sign up for an account there and pay for roaming which is stupid and ridiculously expensive. SK Telecom cell phones you can hack to work with Verizon Wireless, but for that you'd need to go to a cell phone dealer in LA K-Town. The cell phone you want only works with KTF so it will only work in Korea, period.

Yes. I was going broader in that it's not only not compatible with AT&T but all American cell phone networks in whole.
