Thanks for the helpful advice! You know you kinda "woke me up". I realize now that I do that.. Sometimes I record myself singing with power but then it doesn't sound right. I know how to sing from my diaphragm, but i guess it's just me when I listen to myself all the time I think I sound better w/o it. I guess it's better when you let someone else evaluate yourself. Yea and I didn't warm up before recording these, so that must answer a lot of it~ But I'm still not really sure what range I can sing in. I tried on the piano, and it seems like I'm not quite in the alto or soprano range. I can't reach the last few notes for alto or the last few high notes for soprano..maybe i can, but haven't got there yet?? I've tried female artists like BoA, Jang Ri In, Byul...but they didn't seem to work for me..any suggestions? Thanks again for the helpfu, honest feedback
Before you find what range you're in, you need to bring out the power first. If I sing really quietly with my voice, I could probably hit some really high notes, which are actually...not in my range.

I would also suggest trying to sing to American songs first. I'm not a fan of American songs, but they are better than Japanese & Korean & Chinese for bringing out that rich powerful tone. Keep trying different songs using your DIAPHRAGM & you'll know when you find the right one in your range. Go for more oldies & disney. Stay away from r&b for now because that takes more technique. You should be able to belt out lines & feel this extreme surge of energy (LOL!) if the song is PERFECTLY in your range. Again, none of this will help if you don't try using your diaphragm, but I think you seem willing to make changes. Remember, it may sound bad at first, but I guarantee with LOTS of practice, you will see improvements.
