Okay, I'm just about ready to give up and just get a new laptop computer so I can dump this desktop crap and use a new one... But I remembered how Soompi has a Tech Troubleshooting section, so you guys are kinda my last hope. :3 Any suggestions would be amazing.

Here's my story:

My computer has been crashing since late 2007. At first, I didn't really mind them because the first two were "big" crashes that actually cleared up some hard drive space for me (over 10GBs each time), so I thought that that was kinda neat and ignored it, haha. Then throughout 2008, the crashes became more frequent. But when my computer crashed, my computer doesn't pop out blue screen errors. They would just flash and the screen would go black (or even white). Blue screen errors would appear once in a blue moon.

Sometime in September 2008, my Norton Antivirus subscription ran out and I finally uninstalled it. I uninstalled it mainly because my friends have all been telling me that Norton takes up a lot of your RAM and makes your computer super slow. Huzzah, for the few weeks after uninstalling it, the computer crashes were less frequent. So happy then, lol.

Then came December 2008 when I encountered a virus. I didn't have a firewall or any antivirus programs between September and December, so unfortunately, I had to somehow remove it all. I removed in just in January with the help of AVG and one very awesome friend. But since removing my Trojan virus/spyware, my computer has been crashing even more frequently, and blue screens have been popping up more often (which I heard is a good thing). I'm not sure if the more frequent crashes within the past couple of months is because I've been using CCleaner a lot lately too.

That was a bit tl;dr so kudos if you read all that.

Like I said, my computer crashes are extremely frequent. I've had it crash every five minutes, every two minutes etc. Or I'll get into my desktop, view it after hearing the Windows starting music sound charm, and then it'll crash, and I'll have to press the restart button on my CPU box thing again. The programs that have triggered my computer crashing are wide-ranged too. Sony Vegas triggers it a lot, and sometimes iTunes and Firefox, but I've even had it crash while saving a Notepad txt document.

Anyways, for the past couple of months, I've been taking pictures of all the blue screens that have been showing up on my screen, just so I can keep the error codes, and track how frequent they are. Some of them are the same, while some aren't. Here is my list:

You can try to do a repair install rather than a format. But a format would force you to get new drivers and stuff for your system. Sometimes drivers can give you issues like that. If you can find out what computer you have reinstall the chipset (or motherboard) drivers.

Did you overclock? (If you don't know then you probably didn't)

In terms of hardware you might have damaged ram... or just a messsssed up motherboard.

Amazing documentation of your blue screens... usually I just see it go BLEH *reset* and repeat lol.

I can't reformat. Reformatting needs my hard drive C to be installed and I can't even do that because I need my floppy disk drive A to work. And mine doesn't work, lol.

No, I didn't overclock, lol... Because I don't know what that means, rofl.

Oh dang that's an icky situation :X The blue screen of death.
Can't you reformat by inserting an windows disc and boot it? O.O
I used to get them a few times and I'd freak and eventually stop using certain programs and trying to figure out what triggers the nasty screen. It's been a while since I've had one.
Which Norton did you have? Norton 2008 doesn't hog. Norton used to hog SO MUCH it was ridiculous, I avoided it at all cost. It wasn't until recently that my uncle and a few others told me to get a proper firewall and stuff since I only used NOD32. Installed it with Norton 2008 and it's running just fine.
Sometimes I try to use the repair option like awdark stated, but usually I just go straight for reformatting.

Looks alot like damaged RAM. Download MEMTEST86 and run it for about 7 hours, and you'll see if your RAM is fine or not.

You just need the CD to do the install, computers can boot off the CD just fine.

I second that idea, you can get it for floppy or burn it to a CDR (I prefer rw because its only like 2mb!) it boots on its own and you cant run it in windows.

I actually got the bsod from a virus before. I looked at your MBAM log and ... you had quite a few. vicx.gif Try and clean out your computer first and see if that helps.

You're lucky. I don't have System Restore points set back that far. :3

Nope. sad.gif

I've pretty much given up on it. Once I get a job, I'm just going to save up and buy a new computer. There are viruses lurking around my computer, and I was planning to get a new one when The Sims 3 releases, so I might as well just try to endure the next few months while I save up money to buy a new box + monitor, haha.

Thanks everybody. smile.gif

Just Google that error code, and you'll get an idea of what the problem is. If it's hardware problem, all it's going to take is some money; if it's software problem, you're going to have to slowly feel the issue out.

You're Windows and all the software that triggers the BSOD are legit right?
