Hi,
I hope I'm posting in the right place. If not, Mod, please move this to appropriate place.
I'm looking for DVD player that plays data DVD clips. It takes me too long to burn dramas to DVD (3-4 hours to burn 2 episodes in one DVD and use alot of DVD for each drama). Someone told me to burn dramas into dataDVD. Not only can I burn 2 or more episodes in one DVD, it only takes around 10 minutes to burn them. Problem is, of course, I can only play the dataDVD on my computer/laptop. I own few DVD players but it doesn't play dataDVDs.
I thought I read somewhere there's regular DVD player that plays recorded dataDVD.
If there is such thing, can someone tell me what is:
1. name of the brand
2. model number
3. where I can buy one in Southern California
4. price range?
Thank you so much.

Just need one that says it has DivX support. For example http://www.target.com/Philips-DVD-Player-P...0dvd&page=1
I believe Samsung has some that has DivX and has a USB port on the front so you can just plug in an external.

I have the same question as mommie Alice
As long as the DVD player supports Dixv format, it can play .avi video files burned to a DVD as data?
Or do I need to convert the .avi to a dixv file and then burn the dixv file as data?
And why do I need to connect the DVD to the hard drive?
I want to burn .avi video files as data and then play it with the DVD player connected to the TV.
Any help is greatly appreciated!^^
edit: does the dixv player play .mkv/.mpg4 video files when burned as data?
