I'm sure everyone here is 20+ and we all have joined this place at a certain period of time. Some of us have been around for a while. What have you learned throughout the years in your time here? Since you joined Soompi.

I've been here at the start of a new beginning for this forum in 2005. It's been some time. I remember stuff I see in past years. I've ventured to many sections of the forums. I went to topics in the older days that I learn from and get things out of. I learned to always try to be positive and don't let anything bring me down. I've also learned that when things change it can be hard to get moving on and do new things.

I learned that Soompi is full of idiots and conformist sheep, not all but a solid 90%.

^Wow.. And they're what? Forcing you to stay..?

On topic: I've learned a little korean by lurking in the k-language thread, a little too much about plastic surgery in the beauty&fashion section, aaand a whole lot about my fave k-stars smile.gif

i've learned that abstinence-only education leads to a lot of inane threads.

I've learned that after four years, the picture in your avatar still makes my eyes squint in pain.

On a more serious note, i've learned too much about myself during my time here.
I'm thankful Soompi has been around for so long and still going strong!

I've learnt:

soompi is great in finding asian celeb pics
most soompi asian girls are wack and insane (love & relationships, the real world, beauty & fashion, fanfics)
some soompi asian guys use this place as a pick up joint
the world has too many asian people who complain
the internet has made asian people in western countries even more anti social
soompi asian guys need help with their hair and fashion sense

My blog My 411 I love all things strawberry

I've learned that Soompi is dominated by women and the only way to get attention is to create a thread about food or relationship. I also learned that you can have a suggestive picture of an abalone in your sig, but the minute you dare use font size 4, the admin gods will be all over you.

Here's to you, Soompi!

I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

LOL. Do they really?
I think the world has too may people that complain .. PERIOD.

I learned that there are a lot of ... not so bright people in this world. Oh, also that reading comprehension doesn't seem to be a big thing around here. What are they teaching in schools these days? mellow.gif

I've also learned that Soompi makes the time fly by when i'm at work but it also keeps me from doing a lot of work. Maybe it's time to give up Soompi. That way i'll actually be able to get all my work done. Lol.

I've learned that being 20+ can be considered "old" even if that + is a single digit number.

Reading comprehension is completely neglected in general.

I have been a soompi member ever since I was 14 years old. Now I am 21. I remember the server moves and how sad I was during a period of time waiting for soompi to come back online with the new server/look.

I learned that you can skip a couple of pages of a popular thread and pretty much get the gist of what everyone else said by reading the last page (most of the time). I have come to accept the existence of really girly looking Asian guys. I accept it so much that I never look at an Asian girl without wondering if she was really a guy who is dressing feminine. It's that bad sometimes.

If there is a popular star at the moment, there will be many picture topics about them. Oh how I still remember the S.E.S./Shinhwa/Boa/Se7en days when every other topic would be about them. When soompi members take pictures, they look to cover half of their face or have their bangs cover their eyes or look into the camera at awkward angles. And that a lot of members like to play "guess my ethnicity" game.

Sooooooooooooooo true. Every other thread in the 411 seems to be about it. I say "blah" to that!

i have also learned that reading comprehension is not mandatory for replying to posts... and apparently neither is reading the OP nor any of the following responses.

You made me realise one thing, I have no problem with people complaining. I just hope most keep it to themselves.

The Internet has given everyone in the world a voice, and all they do is complain.

'zomg i dont have any friends and i dont go out but i want to meet people, why cant friends quit their life and revolve around mine?'

I've learned that no matter how much i need to study if i get bored and are no sports on soompi will distract me for a good hour.

....man i just read my sentence. It is horrible..

That no matter how much I need to study, soompi will always distract me-unless sports are on.
