Yeah I do that. But i've learned from it.

Bcuz if you do, I mean, you're obviously shy, but the guy will probably think you're uninterested. Because normally when strangers make eye contact with you, you just look away right away. But to make him feel teeny bit special (without being obvious, of course), just catch, linger a bit, and smile and look away quickly as if you're embarassed.

Just don't do it so cheesily.

oh man, I do this too sometimes... I think it's out of habit? Or maybe I feel like I don't want to get caught looking at them or something. In any case, I always regret it because it seems kind of rude or like I'm avoiding them. So nowadays, when people look at me (that I... know) I try to smile and acknowledge their presence... but I'm still very bad at it.

sometimes we fear what expression people have after the second of seeing us,
other times we just are intimidated by direct eye contact...

I have that problem, too. but its kind of fading now. I think it has a lot to do with confidence.
you just have to show that you have confidence and try your best NOT to avoid a guy you think is cute.
its pretty hard, but after you do it the first couple times, it'll get easier and easier. (:

Once you get over the feeling of intimidation and self conciousness (the reason why you look away), you'll be unstoppable. If you really are interested, don't be afraid to let him know the deal. Sorta off topic, but it sorta applies too: society isn't what it used to be. Girls have so much power over guys, they don't even know it.
