it was fine last night but when i tried to turn it on this afternoon after church, the screen would stay black but i could hear the normal noises that my notebook makes when i boot it up..does anyone know how to fix this problem?? i don't want to send it to services if i don't have to..only if there is no other means of fixing it..

i also called ASUS and they said that i had to send it into services if i wanted it fixed but then will my files disappear when they fix it?? i believe that it is a screen issue..not necessarily a hard drive issue..so my files should be ok if i send it in...right??

Screen burnt? Try connecting a monitor to it then transfer all the data out smile.gif

I've just had this problem and Dell fixed it for me saying it was a graphic card problem. My stuff are all safe so I think yours should be fine too if we have the same problem =)

No problem that I know of that's a screen issue but in order to fix it you have to wipe out your hard drive so yeah I'm guessing no your files will be safe...

There are several possible problems that could be here...

1) The back light is out, are you able to see a little bit of something?

2) Graphic card problem, like their saying

3)The brightness on your screen is turned wayyyyy down... I hopes that's the problem xD
