Good Nursing Schools! new york/jersey/pa/maryland/ct area

i thought i wouldn't be able to be accepted anywhere else based on my grades (i'm a huuuuge slacker/procrastinator)
& the only good grades i had were in my senior year.
SOOO, around april and may last year, i applied to NYIT & CUNY (both schools in new york), and i got ACCEPTED TO BOTH!
but, NYIT was around $40,000 a year and i just didn't have that money, and the CUNY school i applied to didn't have any housing.
really dumb, i know, lol D;
and so i ended up at the community college a week before classes started.
at the beginning, i put up with it, but now, i'm just like 'why am i here?'
i feel like this school isn't even a college. it's like my mom has to drag me to class every single day.
i already applied to Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Ramapo.
i can cross Rutgers off my list because they sent me a letter a week or 2 ago saying they can't consider me for the Fall '09 semester because the 'space is limited' or somethinggg. ;____;
right now, i'm trying to apply to every school so there's a higher chance i'll be accepted to one of them and i can finally get out of the school i'm at now.
my question is, are there any colleges in the new york/new jersey area that are good for nursing?
it has to have:
- the nursing program (obviously haha)
- housing
- a college that'll be worth the money.
- new york/new jersey/pennsylvania/connecticut/maryland area
- lots of diversity.
- good environment/surroundings.
thanks a lot! ^^

Tuition is very cheap comparing to your 40k per year. It's about
Location: 68th street in manhattan. 6 train.
Housing: I'm not sure about that part because I live in brooklyn; but i'm sure you can speak to them about that situation and they could arrange something?
I would say the surrounding is good. If you continue to walk near 59th street you'll hit the shopping places. (ie: banana, h&m, diesel, ..etc)
And if you decide to go there, it'll be great. lmao

QUOTE (Moovilla @ Feb 17 2009, 08:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I would suggest CUNY Hunter College because they have a good nursing program; but a lot of people apply for that major but only 100 students (I think?) gets in. It's very hard to get into that major (well thats what I heard from other students). I'm currently a freshmen there pursuing my nursing major too.
Tuition is very cheap comparing to your 40k per year. It's abouttwo thousand something per semester. Nevermind, I just notice you reside in NJ so it'll probably be 4k-5k per semester? But I'm sure you'll have finacial aid to cover that up.

maybe i'll see you there xDQUOTE (Raiikin @ Feb 20 2009, 11:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>ugh dont go to ramapo, its like high school all over. plus theyre all white people. =P
LOL. danggg, that's one of the reasons why i hate my school now, i feel like it's high school.
and ughhh, i'm so sick of seeing the same people everyday, i need some diversity xP
thanks for the suggestions! (:

yeah i think it is a filipino thing LOL.
i figured out i wanted to be a nurse by myself though .. i wanted to be a graphic designer at first, but with the recession and all -____-
i should've done really well in high school so i would've been in nj stars program. but my grades sucked all except for my senior year. i'm surprised i got accepted anywhere lol.
okay, so i want to find schools farther than just new york and jersey lol.
so does anyone have suggestions for good nursing schools in the
new york/new jersey/pennsylvania/connecticut/maryland area?
thanks a lot everyone (:

I didn't have the greatest SATs and ACTs back in high school and I really wasn't the going away to college type of girl. I went to this community college part time taking 1-2-3-4-5 classes at a time right after high school back in 2004.. not to mention while working full time. One sem I took 5 and ended up dropping 2!
I can say I love and hate Nursing school. I love it when I know I'm doing a good job like passing my tests and surviving clinicals just like what happened this week.
Good luck to your nursing career..
P.S. I'm also a Filipina!
