I have a problem with mold right now and i don't know how to deal with it.
I left my sandwich in my tote bag for 4-6 days. (I totally forgot that I left it in there.) And inside my tote bag, I have some loose coins..and apparently MOLD is ON the coins, from the sandwich
I don't want throw out the coins because that will obviously cause bad luck.."Throwing away money" is bad luck for my religion.
I REALLY want to wash it off. But I'm not sure its safe to touch or wash off.
Its like a bluish green goo. (Its really gross. But I still want to wash it off..BUT HOWW?) The coins are still inside my tote bag

If it's just breadmold, which it sounds like, it shouldn't be too dangerous to touch unless you're allergic or something, though you might not want to inhale it.
But why touch it at all? Pick it up and wash it with a plastic bag or rubber gloves or a paper towel or something

Mould is usually caused by some form of fungi. The only risky moulds or fungi are usually found in soil (I'm guessing your sandwich didn't go for a run in the garden)
From what I remember mould doesn't like acidic conditions too much (so maybe try vinegar or lemon juice) and it should help get rid of the mould and kill it. You can also use a disinfectant after it and the coins should be fine to use. =) Use HOT water (as hot as you can bear anyway) because mould can't tolerate a lot of heat.
Most moulds are okay and won't cause too many problems but I would recommend using gloves (particularly if you have cuts or burns on your hands) and dispose of the gloves in a bin outside, wash your hands well and don't get your face too close to the mould (not that you'd be aiming to do that LOL). Otherwise it should be fine =)
Wow my microbiology knowledge that I learnt at uni is actually useful lol.
Edit: You may want to wash out your tote bag too ^^

take your bag to your backyard and hose the bag and coins out.
like dump the coins out onto the floor, hose it off, then hose your bag off.

put it in some bleach and warm water to kill the mold.
then wipe away the mold.
let the coins dry and then use them when you need to.
