Tests are so important in college, but we don't always get the grade we want.

Share tips on how to recover [emotionally as well as academically] from a bad grade.

i dunno. what i do is, i have a good cry over it, i pick myself up, review my *@#$! exam paper to see where i went wrong. and then just go see the lecturer and ask him/her what my misconceptions on the theory parts were, or how i missed out those marks. kinda like a post mortem thing smile.gif

Talk to your professor, TA, and get help from them.
Study your butt off the the next one to make up for the previous one.
Do every possible extra credit that is available.

There's no point of being emo, you can sulk for a bit but here on out you must suck it up, push forward, move on and try your best to raise that grade. Sitting there and crying won't get you anywhere, finish the school work you need to finish, talk to your professor to see what's up and etc.

if there are like 2 other future midterms, just change your study habit and try to aim for 100% next time.

if it's one midterm worth like 25%, drop the course and take it again at another time.

good luck : )

Keep your head up, don't let just one thing destroy you.

one test wont ruin your life. see where you went wrong, and then make adjustments so you can ace the next test

I bombed one of my calculus tests, but I just tried a little harder on the last midterm and final. Ended up with an A+ in the end.

If it affects you emotionally, well, it'll make you want to try harder next time if it means that much.

I took a psychology test on Valentines Day and I found out today that I got a 56%. The bad thing about that class is that you take 3 tests and you can only fail one test. Regardless of how well you do the other assignments, if you fail two tests you can't pass the class. IMO, that is the dumbest piece of **** I've ever heard. So here I am, 6 weeks into class and I'm starting to get really worried about the next two. I haven't failed a test in a long time so I'm freaking out like crazy right now. Psychology is too damn confusing.

I got a 64 on my Environmental Science exam, but it was orignially a 55. The teacher curve it. So, I'm going to study my butt off, since science is not my best subject. Luckily, the teacher is going to drop the lowest grade.

Thank God she is letting us retake an exam. I have to get
a 75 in that clas...ahh. I don't take failure well.

Don't give up! Just pick yourself up and try even harder!
I dunno..after bombing two tests im kinda discouraged (by flunk i mean 50s and 60s) but if you let it get to you, you'll do even worst because you're all worried about the results and concentrating is gonna be really hard. So just see what you got wrong and then on the next test study for dear life.

stare at the test and the grade you got, then decide where you went wrong. after that, leave it somewhere that you can see & let it motivate you. just remember there will always be a next time (:

no worries. first midterm or so are recoverable, but you must study hard for the rest. Usually professor's have one midterm as buffer zone, so you should be able to stand back up. If not, then don't die in the final XD

i always fail the first exams in every class (not purposely .. necessarily).
i test the waters of how my professors administer and set up their exams so i get the feel of it.
but i always make sure they drop the lowest exam score to do this.
so then i know how to prepare myself for all the other exams.
yes, i end up having to take the final but i actually like doing that rofl yes, i am weird.
anyway, yeah, i study properly for my other exams and almost always pass was an A or A- :]
if i fail an exam (one that doesn't get dropped), i get REALLY frustrated and try to find ways to score bonus points, extra credit, things like that.
failing motivates me to study harder.

At Caltech in the 80s they were dealing with one suicide attempt a week. I suggest you do the same

no, but srsly...

go smoke some weed and get wasted because one test is pretty insignificant. Hell, I got a C in physics my freshman year and still got into a good grad school.
