I have a question about wireless routers.
I'm planning on getting a D-link USB wireless adapter, because i need wireless for my desktop, but since it doesn't have a wireless card already in it, i need to get one compatible with vista 64-bit separately. So far, D-link is the only one I could find that was vista 64-bit compatible. My router is linksys, though.
here's my question: if my router and adapter are of different companies, will they still work together? or do i have to get a linksys adapter in order to use the router?

To answer your question:
Yes.
It's only a brand name. It could have had another name, coming from another company other than D-Link or Linksys (but these two are just way more superior). They're compatible if you wanna do what you're telling me there. It's alright. Go get that D-Link USB thing with the wireless network card...

You can use any adapter that the router supports. If you adapter is a Wireless-N but your router supports up to Wireless-G it will not work. Just double check. But if your router is Wireless-N and your adapter is A/B/G it will work.
