This is a bit embarrassing, but I got a ticket around 2 weeks ago and I don't know what to do.
Can I just show up at court whenever before my deadline? or do I have to make an appointment?
Will I be mailed anything?

I'm seventeen if it helps.

Thanks in advance!

well firstly, you can call the government agency which issue you the ticket for procedures........
i dont live where you do, so i don't know the procedures and the laws of your place.
but where i live in canada, its either pay the fine or dispute the ticket .

uh you either pay it(has instructions on there, did you not read?) or go to court on the scheduled date and try to reduce your sentence depending on how bad your situation was.

What he said ^

You can just pay it anytime you want to (before the court date, of course).
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

Should be at the bottom right of the ticket, next to the officers name. I have had a few and just went to court and was able to just a slap on the wrist and told not to speed again. Dress nice and come in 15mins early and speak with respect (Say good morning and always say sir/mam).

Depending on where you live I guess..but for me..I had to go to court first ticket..cause I was under 18. Got community service for 20 hours and he threw the case out and nothing on my insurance. I had to say "your honor" after every sentence >.<;;

I don't know about you..but when your a minor..under age of 18.
You need to go to the court at the exact day officer wrote for you.
It should be written on the bottom of your ticket.

I believe It's juvenile/traffic court. Since your age of 17?
I don't know..it's like that in california.

Thank god im 18 now XD

not to thread jack or anything.. but does anybody know what to do if you got a ticket in a state you don't live in but want to dispute the ticket? i'm guessing there's nothing you can do....

also.. how do you find out how much the ticket is? do you mail them the ticket pleading guilty and they send you the fine? i don't know cuz my dad got a ticket while coming to pick me up from school for break and it's been awhile since he got a ticket.. i think almost 8 years? and i've never gotten a ticket myself.. =P

I'd go try to fight it for the hell of it, if you lose then just pay the fine.
