It is possible for anyone in college to share:
- high school freshman GPA
- high school sophmore GPA
- high school junior GPA
- high school senior GPA
- high school final/overal GPA
- current name of college you are attending

I messed up big time during freshmen year, and I'm worried at what my overall GPA will turn out to be. So if I can get an idea of what some of you guys went through, I think I'll be able to improve in the future.

Help. (:

edit
Does the PSAT I take in my sophomore year count? As in, do colleges look at that?
Oh, and what are cutoffs?

And is class in geometry required to get into colleges?

Finally, juniors in high school take PSATs too, right?

But I'm not. Because if I was, I wouldn't be asking these questions. T_T

Hmm..

I didn't have GPA system from 9-11th but :

12th : 3.8 - 4.0

College :
Fall 2004 - 2.6
Spring 2005 - 4.0
Summer 2005 - 4.0
Fall 2005 - 4.0
[cummulative - 3.6]

I messed up my first semester because of a D worth 5 unit so I'm retaking it. Wish me luck! ^^;

I don't think you have to worry much. xD Just do your best to improve. Try to take AP classes. It'll boost up your grade if you do well ;p Good luck!

Regis High School [New York, NY]
- high school freshman GPA: 3.61
- high school sophmore GPA: 3.78
- high school junior GPA: 3.78
- high school senior GPA: 3.8
- high school final/overal GPA: 3.76 [or watever the average of the above is, I'm going based on memory]

- current college you are attending:
College of the Holy Cross [Worcester, MA] 45 minutes from Boston

-freshman year first semester GPA: 3.51
-freshman year second semester GPA: 3.53
-sophomore year first semester GPA: 3.57
-cumulative GPA: 3.54

in college, A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, etc.
in my high school, A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.8, B = 3.5, C = 3.2, D = 2.8 so mad grade inflation, but that's all high schools

- high school freshman GPA: 3.6
- high school sophmore GPA: 3.8
- high school junior GPA: 3.7
- high school senior GPA: 3.7
- high school final/overal GPA: 3.75
(For all GPAs... not exact... and might be off by a few)
- current college you are attending: 2.91... that second semester of Freshman year killed me... 2.17.

The PSAT you take in sophomore year does not count, but it gives you a chance to see where you need to improve. The PSAT you take in junior year does count. Colleges do not look at PSAT unless you have done very well and have qualified for the National Merit Scholarship [that's the purpose of the PSAT, to see if you can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship, essentially you need 750+ in all three sections since it's so competitive]

geometry is usually part of the high school mathematics sequence.

My school does not offer geometry as a class.
Geometry is only offered as an elective. But my mom told me it's a required class for college...but you know how Asian parents are...I don't know if what she's saying is true. (;

^ i recommend you take Geometry..
You will really need it for SATs and ACTs..
and other Match tests... Geometry is a must,
unless you take Trig, and they teach you
everything about shapes and formulas and stuff
in that class already...

--- > but, hey each school system is different,
Maybe your school's math classes already taught you
your geometry skills in your other math courses..

I think I graduated high school with a...3.5-3.6.

Fall 2005 (first semester of college): 4.0

Don't worry, I kind of fooled around and screwed up my freshmen and sophomore year of high school. xD I didn't take the PSAT's until my Junior year and took the SAT's twice and the highest score I managed to get was an 1120. xD

I only know the two important GPAs.
Cumulative total from high school and cumulative total from college.

High school: 4.4
College (as of now): 3.9

I finished 47th in my high school. Our valedictorian had a 4.78 GPA. I went to Stanton College Preparatory if anyone was wondering. Graduating this year, Fall 2006 then I start graduate school at Tokyo University.
I was in love with infatuation until I grew up.

I don't remember what I got every year of high school, but it was always above 3.75. because I got academic letters every year. I graduated high school with a 3.9 gpa.

Things went a bit down hill in college. I'm a sophomore now. My freshman year of college was 1.69, and now I'm at 1.71 after last semester. I'm hoping to do really well next semester to boost my gpa.
