Hi guys. I lost my phone yesterday, it was an unlocked phone for pay as you go. If I told Rogers that I lost it, would they give me a replacement phone? And I heard theres like some GPS tracking they can do to find phones? I lost it near my school so I dont think it's too lost.. : S Plus I checked my transaction history and nothing has happened to it (if someone has picked it up, they havent used it to call, text, etc)
If I just got a new unlocked phone, would Rogers be able to give me my old # and transfer all my contacts on it?

They will not replace ur old phone becuz as soon as u unlocked it (or maybe until u debrand it o.o) , it voilated the regulations and contract with rogers
u can get ur phone number bak...not sure about contacts, buy the sim card from them n ask them to put ur old number bak in.

I lost my phone last summer too so though my mines was a non rogers phone but in the end i had to call in and block the sim card from anyone else using it. I dont recommend buying a new sim from rogers cause it costs around $40, instead look on craigslist and you will easily find one from $10-$20 new. Then just call rogers and read the new number from the sim card to transfer your old number back on to the new one.

You are on pay as you go right? So you have no contract with them.
But do call Rogers right away to report your missing phone so they can block the SIM card. Go on craigslist or kijiji and pick up a new Rogers sim card for cheaper than their retail price. Call Rogers again and activate your new sim card. Your number should stay the same. But your contacts that you save are gone with your old phone. That's why I suggest people back up their phone book somewhere else.
I lose my phone all the time it seems and I am with Fido so it shouldn't be too different with Rogers.

pmall about $25?
yea i think so...once they get the number they'll do everything on their network?
once ur sim card works, it'll work in any cellphone u slot in.

I lost my phone recently. Rogers will not replace your phone. It have a hardware upgrade option for lost phones, they will sell you a refurbished phone for cheap(er).
You'll also need a new sim card. You can buy it from any Rogers store for 35-40$. They will activate the sim card for you, importing your number onto the new sim card. They can get your contacts back if you have the backup option on your plan. I rather buy a sim card off of Craiglist or Kijiji for 10$, then call Rogers to activate the card.
Anyways, too bad about your phone. Best wishes.

Okay, what if I wanted to change my number, would I still be able to get the $ I had remaining on my pay as you go?
Also.. I went on my Wireless on Rogers.com and it says that I currently don't have any accounts (but I just checked it 5 hours before and I could still see everything) so does that mean the person who stoole my cell took out the SIM card?

They will charge you a fee for changing your number, yes you will be able to keep the remaining account in the account.
You say they don't have your account? meaning you cannot even log in to your own account?
