I never realized how many plates, bowls, pots and pans, and utensils I use until I really started cooking for myself. Every time I cook, it's like I'm cooking a FEAST or something--when really it's just for one person. -_____- I hate the dishes that pile up afterwards too.

BUT that's not my point.

Whenever I cook for myself, it's like I've lost my appetite. All that work that I've put into that meal is draining my away my senses where I can't savor it. I am sick and tired of my cooking!!!! >__<

Is it just me?

I know exactly what you mean! After all the cooking I do, I get drained out after cooking and then I don't even feel like eating anymore. I don't have an appetite anymore after I cook.

lmao yea, sometimes, I think it's my stomach numbing itself from hunger though...maybe you should try cooking when you aren't hungry. Overall, I find cooking a very enjoyable activity. And after cooking a lot, I learn to cook things with very little utensils~

well i'm not completely sick and tired of my cooking, but i feel like my abilities are too limited. i have trouble thinking of what to cook everyday and it bothers me that sometimes i get so lazy that i just settle with rice, fried fish, kimchi, and some seaweed. :/

this is why i just eat from the pan or pot
sometimes if i'm extra lazy
i skip rice

i do that when i'm alone
if i do it when my parents are around
they'll scold me for no reason

I don't know if I'm tired of eating my own cooking, but it just happens that after I am done cooking I am not very hungry anymore. It's probably after tasting and smelling, during cooking, that fills the appetite. Though, it does suck after realizing all the utensils that you just used have to be washed.

i never have the utensil problem kuz i use plastic utensils (wooden chopsticks too) and paper plates. basically, everything i use is disposable except for the pans, bowls (only for soups), and the small knife i have. i know that it feels different to eat with plastic utensils and the food doesn't stay hot for a long time on paper plates, but i'm too lazy to wash everything after every meal. i've been doing this for so long that i really don't have any problem and don't feel the difference any more. i also use japanese rice that's already been washed so i don't have to wash rice every time i cook rice. (i think there's only one japanese rice brand that doesn't have to be washed) i think i'm the laziest person in the world. lol

as for not getting hungry after cooking, i don't think that ever happened to me before. the more i cook the more i get hungry kuz there's a longer waiting time. smile.gif

That happens to me, too. I don't cook elaborate meals when it's just me, but if I have friends or family over and cook a big meal, I don't really eat anything I cooked. I've been tasting it and smelling it for a while. I think by that point, I want something else to eat. But I get REALLY hungry a couple hours later.

Lol.
I can relate to this.
I actually don't really care to eat my own cooking sometimes.
It's not that I'm a bad cook (because people actually like my food),
it's just when the food is done and ready - my appetite isn't there, it's gone. o_O

My mom does that when she's cooking for a lot of people, but even for a single person, that's very bad for the environment.

I love plastic/paper utensils, but I'd rather just wash dishes. Besides, I like washing them.

I'm not exactly tired of eating my cooking....i'm just too tired to cook.
After moving into my new apartment, I don't have the same desire to cook.
Maybe it's because i'm working 8-4 and some days 8-9.

And whenever I cook, I try to boil everything in one pot to reduce the amount of dishes I need to wash LOL

Because I'm vegan, its difficult to eat a meal together with my family but I always end up eating alone since by the time I'm done cooking, they are done eating...

Also, the food doesn't taste as good as it did the first time but I can't throw away leftovers so I have to eat it again for a few more meals in a row...

omg i agree with you, it's like you're cooking because you're hungry but afterward, you don't feel a bit hungry at all
