i have trouble socializing with most of them. when i say the word "sh1t" they'll be like, "shh don't curse, this is church .." everyone listens to christian music while i'm listening to rap or techno. they're like strict and different from some of my friends outside of church ..... it's weird ....

They're just being hypocritical and putting up a front. Pay it no mind.

^ i agree with her. its a church, the enviroment is different. you can't treat it as if its school (where people cuss like crazy)
plus there are grownups around thats probably why they said it.

^agree with these guys, you don't swear in a church ^^;; it's disrespectful. That's not weird, that's just the way it is.
I know what you mean though, about the music. (Unless you're listening to it IN the church, in which case.. yeah you're acting weird, not them xD)
I have friends who refuse to listen to music that isn't sung by a Christian artist at the very least :/
Tbh Sharon is kinda like that. 'Yay this artist is a Christian, it's ok to listen to her', 'Oh, Baek Ji Young is a bad person, I won't listen to her music'.

Imo that's kinda. Weird. I listen to music, because I like the music, not based on the artists' beliefs o__0

But anyway, back to the point xD Of course they're different from your friends outside of church. They have different values and beliefs. It's to be expected ^^ You can find more open-minded/'liberal' Christians if you look for them though, if you're having a hard time connecting with the ones at your church that you think are too strict or whatever. Kids who are all holier-than-thou can be a bit irritating and condescending at times. ^^

MuGEN owns you.

well....it's a church. even if cursing is something you do all the time, it's still common courtesy to not curse in a place of worship.

just don't misunderstand them tho. church isn't a place exclusively for saints but instead the opposite crowd

you should learn how to express yourself without using curse words anyway.

(good for communication. Imagine if you and your bf/gf were having an argument and you wanted to say something, but all you could come up with is "sh1t". get my point? or if you had to go to court and had to say something but all you could say was "damn it!" to the judge)

"Church people" are human beings too. They struggle with the same things everyone else
does, they just have a different way of dealing with things. If they don't listen to a certain
type of music, I don't think it means very much. I personally think rap is annoying, but thinking
it's annoying doesn't define me as a person. And as for swearing in a church... well think about
it, would you cuss in a temple?

huh interesting...

at my church people curse...well when the teacher's not around

but even the pastors say like crap...<- really not that bad...

it depends...cuz my church is known for everyone gossiping and mini cooper like that...
^ i really don't like it and i don't wanna go there anymore...

plus...everyone's 2 face...well almost everyone.

just try not to be obnoxiou?
In service, there's a few kids that would openly question the pastor. It's annoying and disrespectful
If you want to question christianity wait till service is over and you're in private...or just keep it to yourself.

but yeah...sorry for this useless post tongue.gif

Good luck!

swearing in a church is just unholy..yeah. but christian music lovers? well, i don't know what kind of people they are, so i have no idea. maybe if you gave the songs a try, it wouldn't be so bad? who knows. just get to know them a little more, and i think it will be fine.

when i think about it, it's good to know that they have their limits~ + it's CHURCH anyway.
despite how religious they are, you'd be surprised when you get to know them better.. & later on discover how cool they really are.

So are you a christian? If so, you shouldn't be cursing in church or outside of church. And about the music... what's wrong with christian music? If you're a christian, try not to listen to profane music ( use common sense ). I like rap, but not the ones that use profanity every 2 seconds.

Right. If they're drinking and partying by the time they're in college, they aren't saved and they never believed. Jesus does NOT condone that kind of behavior.

COMMON SENSE:
The ONLY role model for Christianity is Jesus Christ. Would Jesus curse at all? -No. What type of music would Jesus listen to? -Probably music that would glorify God.

.... you are at church.
What did you expect? LOL???

I remember going to church camp and accidentally saying "OH SHI7!" and EVERYBODY turned around and stared at me.
It doesn't help my dad's the pastor, LOL.

We did have a gay emo cross dresser high schooler with another identity at our church because his mom attended. (This is a korean church btw). he took a career test thing and it told him to become a rabbi. ROFL.

But while I found some good friends at church, I can't be as open with them as my non church going friends because they judge (especially because of my dad). This is one of the reasons I stay away from church a bit....;;; I'm an conservative yet VERY liberal on some issues (I used to be/am an art major after all!) and believe in complete human freedom soooo yeahhh
URGH don't ever call me honey, love, sweetie, cutie pie, baby, babe, etc. You don't know me and how old I am.

::gasp::

What! Someone told you that you shouldn't be cursing in church! The audacity! Next thing you know... they're going to actually expect you to believe in Jesus!

No duh... it's Church. It's a place to pay your respect and learn about Jesus. You're expected to be respectful and well mannered when you're at those kind of place. If you want to cuss, do it when you're not there; and if you can't do that... then just don't be there.

I don't go to church, nor believe in Jesus... but even I know that it's a place that requires you to be well-mannered.
