Last year, I spent it with friends. Went out to dinner with them. A quiet and relaxing night with people I care about. However, my birthday's in a few days and I feel miserable. I feel like I'm going through a mid-life crisis. I'll be 28, not too far off from the big 3-0. I don't really want to celebrate it with anyone. I was thinking about getting a wine bottle, two or three, and drinking it throughout the day and drown in my sorrows. I've been reflecting on my life for the past week and I just realized, "Hey, I haven't really done much with it." Most of my peers are either married or are engaged. And, here I am, single, alone, and working at a job I hate, and I'll be turning 30 soon.

My birthday is during the first week of school...so usually I don't go "full blast" because starting the school year with a party is not a great idea. And sometimes people forget my bday, because the new school year is a bit more exciting...*tears*

You shouldn't drink alone..that is just sad. Buy a cake, decorate it. And blow out the candles. You should celebrate your birthday with little kids, you know nephews and nieces, your friend's kids, etc..etc..Every birthday I have celebrate it with my nephews and nieces, and they always have more fun than me, but I noticed that they always make my birthdays much brighter and delightful.

And sorry to say this...but yes.....your expiration date is coming up....LOL...don't worry..I'm pretty sure you age beautifully.

For my last birthday, which was my 40th, my parents and sister tried to surprise me with a car.

But they completely missed me. Those fools.

Puhaha.

Last year I turned 24, and I celebrated it with my gf, an intimate dinner at a classy restaurant. I don't like big party's where they're all there for me. I can get shy at those occasions.

This year though will be slightly different. By my b'day I would have moved in to my apartment in the City/Downtown and I perhaps plan a close friends dinner (different ones for different groups - highschool, uni, work, etc.) and again an intimate dinner with my s/o.

Oo perfect thread for me!

Today I turn 23. To me, it's just another day, no big deal. I don't know if I'm going to do anything. Most of my friends graduated last year so now it's just me and my roommate in our fifth year. I'm actually more excited to see a thread about birthdays on my birthday.

Anyway, last year my friends tried to surprise me at midnight. But too bad I heard my roommate go outside and he didn't come back in for a couple minutes. So I went outside and there was everyone walking up with a cake. I guess I was semi surprised, but I was also kinda expecting something.

My last bday was on a weekday so I just had a few people. Hung out, played some games, watched a movie, ended up wrestling a friend and having her stick her big toe up my butt. Ummm, just another day. I grew up not celebrating bdays so they aren't that big of a deal to me.

I spent my birthday vacationing in Hawaii with my family. I had brunch with my boyfriends parents, relaxed on the beach, had dinner with my family then went to see a local band perform. biggrin.gif

Visit some museums and went to park, then played bowling at night.

Edit: ^ I'm sorry to here about that silver-typoon.

Me and 30 of my friends took a party bus downtown.
Party bus cost about $1500 split between 29 people. Not bad.

Loaded the bus with alcohol and just drank away till we got to the club.

I barely made it inside the club lol...

2 of my closest friends and I were born in September, so we had a triple birthday. We went to Melting Pot to have dinner, then had some drinks at home. A relatively mild celebration, but fun nonetheless smile.gif

I said, "Come on, I thought it over. I don't wanna die here. I have no desire to get mrried."

lol... i felt the way you felt for my last birthday (turned 20 this year). i felt so depressed and miserable. i thought 20 was really old.

maybe you'll feel stupid for feeling the way you do when you're 40 or 50.

i just went out for dinner with family.

I go to every haunted house in San Diego for my birthday and then we end up at a bar downtown doing shots of Irish Car Bombs.

Usually the pattern is: Dinner at a nice resturant. Haunted house 1, haunted house 2, ice cream, maybe haunted house 3, alcohol.

Mind you - this usually last for about a 2 week time period.
