Synopsis
Higuchi Juntaro is a soba seller who appears in unexpected places at unexpected moments. One day, his older sister, Itako, comes down from Osorezan out of worry for him. However, besides being a soba seller, Juntaro is also a detective who has impressively solved several difficult cases around him that have caused a stir. He is surrounded by peculiar personalities including Ikeda Masahiko, the effeminate president of an entertainment agency; Kuroda Kinzo, a detective who clashes with Juntaro over almost everything; and the many handsome shop assistants working part-time as soba noodle deliverymen. Why do queer cases always happen to Juntaro each time he is with an important guest? Can he solve the cases brought to him without a hitch?

Character Description
Fujiki Naohito as Higuchi Juntaro
An assistant at Ikemen soba shop. He possesses the ability to see through lies. This triggers rumours and he is asked to behave like a detective. He isn’t quite able to reject when asked. He is vulnerable to women’s tears. He has an interest in playing the guitar and can also sing. He is popular with females and falls in love with them one by one. However, he is unexpectedly quick to fall out of love.
Horiuchi Keiko as Higuchi Itako
Juntaro’s older sister. The owner of Ikemen soba shop. She comes up to Tokyo from Aomori because she is worried about Juntaro’s future. Her Tsugaru dialect is only understood by Juntaro. Because she has the skills to gather subatomic particles, she can stretch, compress and bend space, and can get Juntaro carried back in time.
Furuta Arata as Ikeda Masahiko
The president of Ikeda Talent Promotion and a regular customer of Ikemen soba shop. During his youth, he was the idol of the times as “DO Hikomi”. However when it was exposed that he was a homosexual, he retired from the entertainment industry and set up a talent promotion agency but it seems to continually be in the red.
Namase Katsuhisa as Kuroda Kinzo
A detective who clashes with Juntaro over almost everything. He used to be a manager at Ikeda Talent Promotion. Because his younger brother, who is a detective, has disappeared, he takes long leave without the permission of Ikeda Talent Promotion, disguises as his brother and becomes a detective.

NTV is producing a new drama series titled "Ikemen Sobaya Tantei," combining comedy and mystery. The show features the same primary staff and cast as the network's variety show "Horeyuke! Star Daisakusen," which aired in 2007 and 2008.
The plot involves around Juntaro Higuchi (Naohito Fujiki), a good-looking employee at a soba restaurant (the "ikemen" in the title is a pun on the word "men," meaning noodles). While working there, he is constantly asked to solve various cases. His supporting cast includes Katsuhisa Namase and Arata Furuta, who were also regulars on "Horeyuke! Star Daisakusen."
