hi all~

well, i am not an expert when it comes to websites so if anyone could tell me of some good places to purchase a website. this is not going to be for me but for the physics teacher at my school. [ im the phys. club secretary, so trying to help him out ] so what he plans to do is upload high quality pictures, that he takes of the whiteboard, onto the internet so that physics students can download them when they're sick or w/e. so we are talking about A LOT of pictures and A LOT of memory needed for the site and for others to upload.

thanks for dropping by, thanks a bunch if you can help ! biggrin.gif

Okay, well first off, I think what you're looking for is a hosting company to host your images. I would suggest http://www.site5.com. I use them myself. Lots of space, lots of bandwidth, incredible service, and best of all, cheap.

Secondly, I think to make things easier, you probably want a domain name to go with that as well. I guess http://www.godaddy.com is a good place. I've heard lots of good and bad comments about them, but I've used them myself and it seems okay. You probably won't need much service either, so it should be good. It's cheap as well.

As for the images, well once you get your website, you can install an image gallery to hold those images. Site5 (along with many other hosting companies) comes with Fantastico, which is a script that will install software for you. So you don't need to be a website whiz to get it up and running.

This is all pretty brief, but it should get you on the right track at least. Good luck.
