Would guys be put off a girl because she smokes weed? Not on the regular, so she's not addicted to it, but has it now and again?

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind at all. To me, smoking weed is not reflective of someone as a person.

This question cannot be generalized for guys, and will depend on the person. There are plenty of guys who smoke weed, and would be thrilled that their GF does too, so you have plenty of men to choose from.

Smoking weed = a "druggie"? Man, you kids are so sheltered. I don't even do marijuana, but that suggestion makes me LOL.

I think that it depends entirely on the guy. I think most of it would be fine with it, to be honest, unless they're a hard ass like some people here.

No, but your outlook on it does make you seem like a sheltered kid. And also the fact you deem them 'druggies' for what the OP has defined as recreational smoking, far from being a druggie (which in this case would be considered a stoner).

You've never taken a drug before? Luls to the max.

I haven't.

Keep laughing. Not everyone has to take a drug (or whatever else you want to call it) in their life.

i'm very opposed to drugs, if that's what you mean. consider it apart of my values.

It just depends.

You have some guys in this thread saying they would not like it if girls smoked weed, but I know a ton of girls who smoke weed and still have guys like them. Whether the guy is a smoker or not, well then, it gets a bit more complicated. lol.

In a drugs and society course, and 40% of American college/university students smoke weed recreationally. And about 58 percent have smoked it at one point or another. Depending on where you go to college/uni these statistics become considerably higher/lower.

As you can see, recreational drug use is quite common in American soceity, and to a lesser extent, the use of it no longer carries the stigma it once did. Esp. with the decriminalization of it in my state.

I don't think she would necessarily be a 'druggie'.

But I live in a country where smoking weed is fairly common, maybe there is a cultural difference there?

Marijuana is legal and/or has been decriminalized in some countries, it isn't illegal everywhere. Is your only problem with the drug is the fact that it's illegal?

Respectfully, no. But being open about other people's life styles and choices, even if they conflict with your core beliefs, is, by definition, open minded.

I'm glad we have such a dichotomy of discourse here, it makes conversation interesting. smile.gif
