I just don't like the way its shaped and looks.
The qwerty keyboard is really useful and the trackball makes it easier to navigate though the phone
if your tired of touching. The dedicated home and back buttons are also helpful.
Bad camera so don't rely on it, just go use your digicam, its just a regular point and shoot, with
no option of zooming in also no video recording. [However developers may create an app to
fix this solution]
As for apps, there are pretty nifty apps that the android has.
And now that Android is releasing paid apps, you should expect better
apps to hit the market in the following months.
However, the app market is nothing compared to the iphone market.
I actually prefer the iphone market since it has A LOT of apps and excellent
games for the phone such as DDR and Metal Gear. But if games dont interest
you then mind me. But hey, every OS [ANDROID] starts from scratch so maybe
Android will be like apple in the future.
Other than that, hope I helped you. Many customization can be made
to the homescreen. So good luck in your decision.

I also have one and I like it.
I switch on and on between my ice cream.

Have you tried one out at the T-mobile store?
I've been reading up on the G1 because I might get one
Here are my main concerns with the G1
1) people complain about the battery life, even with wifi, bluetooth, auto-sync, 3G, screen brightness turned down
2) people complain about the GPS
3) internet browser has a major security flaw (don't know if an update has fixed it yet)
4) it seems like it is buggy, I've read lots of people having to do resets, etc.
5) android market (their app store) is lacking in selection for games and for professional apps
Hopefully these concerns are addressed in the updates and cupcake. The touchscreen is brilliant, the screen is bright and beautiful, keyboard is nice.
I really am interested in the HTC Magic, which is the G1 - physical keyboard(it has a Jesus phone keyboard) + cupcake. But there are no plans to release it in America yet. So sad...

I think the con about getting the blackberry of 8900 is that it has NO WIFI.
So you would need to get the Data Plan to use the internet.
HOWEVER, the G1 also requires a data plan but has wifi, which is retarted.
Heres a tip, if you only want to use the WIFI, you can have the data plan
for a month and cancel it so you can just use the wifi. As long as you get
to activate the phone:
In order to use the g1, you need to activate the phone with your google
username and passcode. In order for the G1 to do this, you need the internet.
And since you cant access wifi without activating the phone, you MUST have
the data plan. After that though, you can cancel it.

When you use the internet and music application, the battery just goes down rlly fast..thats what I don't like about it. ;________;
But yeah..I wished they made more colors of this.
I currently have the white one.
Overall, I'm happy I bought it. (-:

Overall, I think it is an extremely great phone. Perfect for those who like the touchscreen but also want a physical keyboard for convenience or personal preference. The Android OS is flawless, and the Market is super cool because you can download whatever apps you want!
The camera isn't the best but I never use the camera on my phones, because I have a digital camera which is what taking pictures are for
The battery life is average, it only drains fast if you have programs or apps open and leave them on without closing them.
The video player is fine for me, plays good quality sharp videos.
As for design, i think the G1 is the first Android phone, so it's not really what you would call a 'beauty'. It has a very simple and straightforward look. I have it in black and white, i like the black because it hides scratches and stuff better but i wish the color wasnt so dull. I dont use my white one much because Im scared of getting it scratched or chipped, plus the silver color on the back is ugly and doesnt go with the phone so I actually just ordered a white color battery cover from ebay.
I honestly would suggest this phone if you like it, then go for it! It's great. As someone else had suggested, Blackberry is good too! Go for BB if you want something more sophisticated.

Actually, the Blackberry 8900 does have WiFi. It doesn't have 3G.

It was kinda complicating at first..to get use to it...I felt overwhelmed ahhaha....and it was kinda uncomfortable having to text when the part that you talk into is slanted upward (gets in the way when you're texting..so your right fingers have to reach out more)
SooOOooooo.......I got my bf to buy me a MyTouch instead!! ahh so much better <3
