ok, i just got a new mic yesterday and it worked when i first used it.
but when i tried today, it couldn't recognize my own voice. i have placed them on the right jacks, the volume is turned all the way up and there's still no feedback coming from my mic.

i tried two mics and it still wouldn't work D:
does anyone know how to solve this ?

i'm guessing you either have an emachines computer, or you're googling wrong information.
each motherboard has different peripherals. the emachines apparantly has 3 mic inputs (with the example having 3 plugged in)
you on the other hand, only have 1.

also, depending on what kind of mic it is, it will show up as a certain type of mic (front/rear/etc)
you don't need to have those settings in order for your mic to work.

doublecheck your motherboard manual and make sure it is in the correct jack.
otherwise i would have to say your sound card is messed up.

i was wondering, how can i fix the sound card...sorry i sound noobish xD
because im 110% sure i placed it in the right jack and i also checked the manual and it's the right one.
it's probably my sound card....

Start a recording and yell in it like a madman... My laptop's microphone doesn't pick anything up unless I speak REALLY loudly... ._. then my parents stick their head in my room and ask if I am okay...

It MIGHT help to update your sound drivers but it didn't make a difference on mine.
