I've been using avast for a while but recently it has been locking up my computer when it scans and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Spyware hasn't been a problem since I've used spybot, but I am curious as to what everyone is using on their computers (namely AV, but list spyware protection too if you want). I used to use AVG AV a long time ago and I am considering going back to that..

I use McAfee. Takes up a heck of a lot of memory, but it does its job well. Annoying when my computer runs slow whenever it's updating, though. They really need to figure out a way to cut down on the memory usage it takes.

i use NOD32. It's really simple and it's not like very complicated to modify exceptions and all that. It has different modules like, AMON for File System protection, DMON for MS Office protection...IMON, for internet protection so it doesn't apply the same level of security for everything. I need a looser protection for internet since i noticed that it won't let me do stuff >.< so yeah... and it updates everyday too ^^ so it's up-to-date.

i don't even think it slows my system down (even when i open PS and Media Player and do a system scan at the same time)...i don't really notice the difference XD

BitDefender 2009, light weight and very powerful. It cleans infections that McAfee, Norton, AVG, and even Kaspersky can't fix. If I had to rank the AVs it would be something like this:

1. BitDefender
2. Shield Deluxe
3. Kaspersky
4. Anything else on the market.

At home I currently use AVG but I just love to change it with Avira A.S.A.P. it's easy to use.

^Kaspersky is very customizable, all you need to do is tweak a few settings. (Unless you were using a cracked version, then there's probably another reason as to why your PC was lagging.)

This is what I use. I haven't had issues with it blocking safe sites on the internet though.

I used to use AVG but now I used Avast, which I like 10x better. It gives you very clear warnings when something is trying to attack your computer but it takes care of everything. It's awesome.

I'm using Avira Antivirus and Avast!
I'm not sure but when i was using AVG, it can only detect trojans. But when i tried using Avira, it seems like there were lots of virus recovered from my old PC x_x
So i like avira better than avg.
