Se7en his english is pretty good but his new song not catchy.
Utada have overall maybe the best english skills n her voice is nice. Her new song is pretty catchy and is better than that song easy breezy im japanese Lol.
Boa English is not good seriously. Her song is catchy but not something that can breakthrough.
I dont know about the rest.

I didn't like Charice's "fingerprint" at the beginning, then it grew on me for a couple of days, then I got over it...when I heard that this is only a "demo" that was recorded the night before the Oprah show... and that they might not release this as a carrier single - I thought, "Oh Thank God"...she's much better than this...

same thing with BoA's and Utada's singles...They grew on me...I like Utada's the best though but already I'm over them...

I just hope that these ladies would come out with Top 10 hits this year so there can be an "Asian Invasion" in America...

David Foster and OOOOOprah will make Charice as one of THE WORLDS superstar in just a year. [Davis said that in the GRAAAAAMY's post party]. it will be a mixture of britney and celine combined!

things to watch for CHARICE

>>She is part of a show/event together with Bon Jovi and American Idol winner

>>She might be part of David Archueleta's tour - if the negotiation will have a positive results

>>She might have a show with David Archueleta produce by Oprah if the negotiation will have a positive results

>>She will have a concert together with Mr. Foster in Las Vegas Mandalay this May

>>She will have her first international album this may or this november coz Mr Foster doesnt want Charice to have a cool and good album but the best/greatest album for her.

I believe she will make it.

She already have korean, american, netherlands fansites and everyone is starting to save money for her album.

I don't know why, but no matter how talented Charice is.. I just don't think her 'style' fits the US music scene. She's been performing really really old songs and ballads since her debut. I'm starting to wonder if it would click considering the fact that most of the US audience are into the RnB-Pop thing. Sure, my mom even likes Charice.. But I see her style to be more appealing to the much older audience.

It's probably a smart move these days for her to be marketed towards an older demographic as opposed to strictly the 14-18 year-old market these days since the older crowd seem more likely to still buy actual cds.

I don't really like charice but she's most likely to be the one who'll succeed, IMO.
people actually want her, other artists have to PR themselves first.

BOA has worked hard but I do not think she'll make it here. Like everyone has been saying her accent is way too thick. And because her accent is too thick all her songs seem to try to hide that fact which equals horrible effects that distort her voice. NOT COOL, especially when it's on more than one song. Seriously, it's so hard to understand what she's singing because of all the bad voice effects. From what I've heard Boa is an average singer, not too great not too bad. With her accent, average singing and average personality (meaning she's just the typical nice, shy, pretty girl) there's no way people will take notice of her. Another thing that bugs me, can she sing live while dancing?? I saw her performance of "I Did It For Love" and my gosh it was HORRIBLE. She was so out of tune and sounded like she was just talking.

Se7en. Poor guy has been screwed over so many times with his career in America. I don't have much faith in him crossing over either...his music is just so-so...Americans would rather turn on Usher, I think.

Charice is amazing. I love her voice. But she really needs to get into the right hands. Saw her performance of "Fingerprints"...big no no...her dancing and all that just made it very silly and made me embarassed for her. With the RIGHT songs, I think she could get somewhere.

Utada. I so WISH for her to succeed in America. Exodus was a bad choice, the music was WAY too Jpop which does not fit America's style at all. BUT "Come Back to Me" might do the trick. With the right promotion she might get somewhere. OKAY i know some of the lyrics is cheesy as hell but it really is a catchy song. It's totally something I could hear Rihanna or Leona Lewis singing. Do what's in right now or something completely different and unique to get your name out there and buzzing.

One Korean group that I think would succeed in America is Big Mama. Seriously, these girls have got the voices. All they need to do is learn decent English. The reason I think they would make it in America is because their target audience will not be young people who are all about looks and catchy music. They have a much older audience who is all about the music. I could seriously see them as the girl version of Il Divo. Heck even those guys have EXTREMELY heavy accents but they've made a big name of themselves here.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, though I have to say that BoA really is a talented singer, and her English album really doesn't do her voice any justice whatsoever. I have hopes for Utada, though. Her album sounds like it has actual potential to be heard in the US.

I was also listening to Big Mama the other day, and thinking how their voices could make them successful anywhere. My family loves their version of "El dia que me quieras" (and my family is white). Good singing really is universal.

the rain that has fallen since morning becomes music.

Utada's album leaked! and I just can't get over how addicting it is. O__O

Hell yeah! Big Mama has the bigger chance at the international market! Sad to say, no matter how cute Wondergirls are...I feel like they're trying too hard! Their english isn't even that good yet. And to make matters worse, they got pwned after the MR removed videos of their 'live' performances came out.

I agree with you about Wonder Girls debuting in the US issue
BUT not with the MR version.. It was not a fair play
If you listen carefully to their MR version and compare it to others..
Their version is the only clean one..
The other ones still has the background vocals in tact
And even the screams were there..
Of course, it would seem good..
WG wasn't that good, yeah, but them being pwned isn't really the fair thing to say
The others would be just as bad if only theirs were cleaned as squeaky as WG's MR was

Charice is one step closer to international stardom. She just announced that she's going to do the sequel of Alvin the Chipmunks movie. Don't know yet as to what her role is going to be but her album is not even out yet and she's already doing a movie? I'm excited!
