and i think it's a little weird that people always put Utada as 'japanese'. Utada is asian america; pretty sure she was born in ny.
whoever does it is going to have to be completely fluent in english.
AND i wish people would stop saying well so-and-so worked with so-and-so therefore it'll totally be a hit. honestly, no one cares of the song isn't that good.
edit
this is true though. and they didn't (as far as i know) change themselves or 'make themselves up' for america.
i think maybe as 'imported music' they could do well. just not pop or household name type.
and for someone like utada, i kind of doubt becoming famous in america is a big deal because shes not a diva and she always sells well.

yes, they were the lucky ones who had a succesful comeback unlike INXS who dumped their vox.

but then I'm Filipino, so I vote for Charice^^
Arnel Pineda shouldn't be there because he's with Jouney already, it just proves that he already made it.^^

dont get mad. this thread is about stars debuting in america and not solely charice thread alone. what you are doing is posting cha's vids individually.
okay. I created a thread for her.

But aren't BoA's choreographers American? Her dancing style will make her unique among American artists, which is good. It will give her an edge.
I'm a Charice fan but yeah, maybe it would be better to post individual links and news on her thread in the Other Music section. http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=172634 BTW, that Fingerprint song doesn't do her singing skills any justice. Fingerprint sounds good recorded but it sounds sort of weak live. *sigh*
