i tried to download my canon powershot A630 to my computer because it was reformatted, but it wont work!
the error says "twain driver file for windows xp not found"
i tried to type it up on google but the only solution was to download driver detective and pay for it ,... is there a solution to this ?

You were trying to install the twain driver? That's what I felt...
Normally, while your camera is being plugged with your computer, you can just go to your control panel, and open "Scanners and Cameras". If you see nothing, just on the left, -> Add an imaging device...
And you go on by yourself.
Installation can be done without a CD or anything downloaded.

Her camera might be in the wrong mode. Like mine has Communication > PRINT/PTP or PC Connection
My sony has USB Connect > PictBridge, PTP, or Normal where normal it acts like a USB drive and PictBridge makes it use the dumb windows software and PTP is something else as well..
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controll...p;modelid=14108 I actually don't see drivers for it which is odd. Because the TWAIN would need a driver like this http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SCANNER-D...river-643.shtml and I dont think its necessary.
