Wats up all? I asked in someone else's topic about HIDs for their Integra I believe.
Here's my whip, 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca

it comes with stock halogen projectors, been wanting to get HIDs installed. Do I need a whole HID kit or simply replace the bulbs? With all the stuff on the internet out there, it's hard to know for sure. If it's gonna be costly, well then I guess the HIDs can wait for another day... thx in advance!

i think you'd need to get a ballast and bulbs.
you should check out a tribeca forum to see what people on their did to get HIDs. It might be a lot easier since they have the same car and have done it already.

you can order them from any reputable online store like ddm, or xenondepot.

you will need to order the blubs and ballasts.. but make sure you order the correct bulb/type. If your car currently has DRL (daytime running lights) that use the low beams for the day then u might have to surf the forums to find how to remove the drl relay since this affects the hids.. installation is pretty simple.

drago, you were right. since the low beams and DRLs run on the same projectors, the HID conversion is too complicated, involving disabling the DRLs and such. not worth it, in my opinion.

the new tribeca from 2008 on has the DRLs from the high-beams, so an HID conversion is much easier.

Canadian tribecas come with stock HIDs... with a car that costs 33k, it should come with HIDs in the united states

subarus are known for their awd. not their technology lol. if you wanted stock hids you should of went with a luxury brand. also it shouldnt be that hard to get hids to work and disabling the drls. there is prolly a fuse for the drl's you can take out.

The Canadian models has a few goodies, only car in the line-up that has stock HID's is the STi.

Nice Tribeca though! If you want the MY07 brochure, I have it. haha
