Soo I'm debating on which brand of springs to buy, between Eibach, Hotchkis, and Espelir. I'm leaning towards Espelir though.. Does anyone have any experience with these brands? I'm looking for progressive springs, not linear. Trying to drop at 1-1.4 in front.

do you have dampers? if not get dampers first.....koni yellows have an adjustable spring perch so you can still lower the car

get swift springs, they are much better. they are linear but they are a much higher quality spring.

i'm sticking with my oem shocks. i wanted to get coilovers in the first place, but with my budget right now i'm just sticking with springs. i never heard of swift springs before, but i want something that won't sag.

go with swift even though you are doing it back asswards

you can also order custom spring rates from some vendors like evasive motorsports

to be honest you should save up just a lil more to get it done right. The biggest mistake for ppl when lowering their rides is getting it done the 'cheaper' way and then later on regretting it and end up spending more than they should have. If you want coilovers save up for them. You'll live without lowering ur ride for another month if thats how long it takes for u to save up that extra $300-400 for them coilovers (: GL

+1. Do it right the first time.

And don't ever, EVER, put lowering springs or coilovers on stock shocks. You'll blow that thing out the next week, if not the same month. That bouncyness is not fun.

coilovers are such a PITA but of course worth it on the track.....depending on how well their adjusters work for example.
if your serious about putting your coilovers to good use, i would ask for dyno sheets for each individual shocks. if your going for looks, then really wouldn't matter what you get i guess. just get one that has a good rep and that aren't known to blow a lot.

thats a little overkill, and extra cost. 99% of people will be fine buying a quality coilover and getting cornerweighted

springs on a stock shock and it's a daily driven car, ftl. unless eventually you're planning to get a better suspension. if it's for looks then goodluck.

but for the brand, i'd go with eibach.

you wont blow your stock shocks with lowering springs that fast. in fact plety of people with rx8's have lowering springs on stock shocks and seem to be fine. eventually after a year it will start affecting the shocks.

You guys have pretty bad shocks then?

Lexus guys runs lowering springs for years and have no blown shocks... I've been running lowering springs for a year and a half now with 22k miles no issues.

swift > OTS eibach

get dampers first, you can still lower the car with koni yellows. plus the ride and performance will be better

all i can say is lowering springs is for looks. no performance gain maybe a lil but you'll have that body roll on turns. eventually after 30k so miles with a stock shock you'll might wanna consider upgrading suspension.

and don't worry bout stock shock blowing. if you're not aggressive of a drive, then your car will be ok.

i used to ran on springs for over 30k miles and my stock shock is still good. i upgraded to coils coz i'd like to bring my car to the track.

but yeah my choice of brand is eibach.
