I use my cell phone as a way of contacting my parents, and for emergencies. That is pretty much it. I text a few friend randomly, but not much. I look around and all I see anymore are people texting or talking on cell phones. I just don't want to be one of those people. It just gets annoying when you are talking with someone, or at the movies, or at dinner, and they (as well as everyone around them it seems) stop to text 9827837638 billion times. I just think it silly and rude and I try to avoid it as much as possible.

I like texting...my boyfriend hates it ....he limits his texting partly because of his plan and he didn't like it. He is a people person who likes to talk to people face to face...whereas I hate talking people face to face...since I am all shy and always worried about saying the wrong things

I text 24/7 to everyone.
I don't really like talking on the phone so much and texting is easier since I can do it pretty much anywhere!

I have unlimited texting so I text... quite a lot. I abuse it as much as I can, lols, especially since my minutes are shared between my dad, sister, and I. My dad talks a lot on the phone so it's like... yeah. Saving. Plus, I'm not much of a phone person and I can't multi-task at all if I'm on the phone, and it pisses me off sometimes.

Anywayy... I mainly text my best friend. She and I don't have the same phone company anymore, but we both have unlimited text, so heyy... We talk a lot :x It helps, especially when we're stuck at places, bored, and need someone to talk to.

I didn't "get" texting until my sister gave me her Blackberry. laugh.gif I had to update my plan and I got unlimited texts (whereas before, NONE). A few of my friends prefer texting when we make plans since we don't have to constantly say, "let me call so-and-so and I'll call you back," as we all prep to meet up.

My friends and I always work different hours and days, so we don't always see each other, so when I am reminded of them or I want to know how they are, I drop in a text, since I think it's less intruding than calling when they might be busy.

Annndd, I have some out-of-state friends, and it's easier to keep in touch with them via texts between different time zones than setting up a good time to call each other.

I text my brother and sister reminders. "Buy some eggs, please!" or "Mom's birthday is tomorrow, buy some flowers!"

Otherwise...I don't text people I don't know really well. And I don't use it to vote for stuff (extra charges? No thanks!).

QUOTE (namu_29 @ Mar 16 2009, 05:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I text A LOT

I don't like to phone people. For one thing, I'm very shy, it's hard enough for me to start a conversation in real life but awkward silences over the phone just seem to make it all magnified for some reason. I don't like to impose either. Some things I can just get out better in text than in voice.

The same reason to why I text.

I usually text because if my friends are in class, I don't want to be the person calling them. Haha, I also text friends in other states instead of calling due to time differences. I don't want to be calling them late at night when they're sleeping so it's better to text.

I don't like texting... I don't do it. I receive them sometimes, then I call the person back.

58 texts would be a 1 min phone call, and there's no mixed up messages. Plus there's some pinkberryassery involved in texting because you don't have to actually talk. I like to hear my victims voices. mwahaha.

I text when I need to reach a bunch of people, or if I'm in an unimportant meeting.

I hate speaking on the phone as my voice is kind of husky for a woman. rolleyes.gif I send texts to my good friends for the most part, and also to one of my colleagues whom I'm, uh, very close with. I've sent texts in front of my students, mostly to my co-workers and to friends who are fellow teachers. My habit is really kind of ridiculous, but I have the BlackBerry unlimited plan so I can't complain.

But now that I pay my own I got an unlimited texting service haa =D

Ever since I got a cellphone in junior high I've been obsessed with texting.. I'm what you can call a pro-texter.. haha.. on those nonsmart qwerty phones I can text without pretty much looking at the keypad.. but I have a qwerty phone now so I have to look only because it's not as big as a keyboard and I don't remember where all the keys are located.. Tiny buttons = too close together.

I have a basic plan that I want to keep and that doesn't include texting. It's expensive stuff. I have too many bills to take care of already. There's no reason to increase expense on something I don't need. Besides I can't text.
TJP, that I like.

Sometimes I text my friends and family but mostly I text this one guy I'm interested in. Once school starts I think I'll probably text a lot more.

I move at the end of this month, then I'll reactivate + get a new phone and text parts of my body to Vanessa Hudgens.
