According to this site the 88x does NOT support wifi.
Blackberry smartphones that support wifi are:
  • BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8120 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Curve™ 8320 smartphone
  • BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphone
  • BlackBerry® 8820 smartphone

Sorry :[ Hmm, but ipod touches have free wifi (:

and how do u install themes biggrin.gif

To install themes:
1) First download the theme from a theme website such as this website (click!)
2) The file should be in a .zip format
3) Extract the files
4) Open desktop manager (cd that came with your blackberr)
5) Connect computer and blackberry via usb
6) Click on 'application loader'
7) Click on 'add' and find the files you extracted
8) Wait for blackberry to auto restart
9) Go to Themes in the options menu and it should be there!

Reason that it's prob not working
- Most bb's need Plasmic Theme Reader, but sometimes it comes with it
- Certain themes need a certain operating system such as 4.1, 4.3 or 4.5

Or you can watch youtube videos on how to install themes
part 1 & part 2

You can find out your OS version by clicking OPTIONS (it should be the wrench icon) then click ABOUT
Then look at about the third line and it should say what version you have.
For example my third line says exactly this: "v4.5.0.77 (Platform 3.2.0.51)"
And I have version 4.5

I have no idea why your desktop manager won't download.
It could be a computer problem ...
Or you should try again.
I think it didn't work for me at first because it was lagging on the loading
But then it worked (: So keep trying!

Paying for wifi - stupid; if you don't have an ipod get an ipod touch.
free ipod. music. applications. what more can you ask for? (besides phone/text/bbm)

So to get the theme to work,
first make sure you have the desktop manager installed (:
When you figure that out I'll def guide you step by step with the rest

Blackbottoms
- Personally I love when my backgrounds are kind of dark or blackish towards the bottom. Makes my icons for my applications show better. So I specifically went on a search for black/dark bottomed backgrounds.
- Please note that this others posts do have black/dark backgrounds (:

There are many many different ways.
I'll just tell you some of the ways that I know.

✖✖ Phonezoo.com - which is what i use
1) create an account and sign up, make sure your phone number and phone model is correct
2) sign in
3) click ringtones (on the navigation bar)
4) click 'create from file'
5) upload the sound file
6) edit the song (only 30 seconds is allowed)
7) Finish and click save and send; it should send to your phone in the form of a multimedia message
(*note - you have to pay for the message!)
8) save the ringtone

✖✖ Crackberry.com
1) Log in or Sign up and then log in
2) Choose Genre, Album, Artist or Title
3) Choose a song
4) Enter you email that is connected to your blackberry and click the "Email me my ringtone!" button
5) Click on the URL from within the email, and the ringtone will open within your BlackBerry's Media Player
6) The Media player provides the option to "Save MP3 as Ringtone".

you dont have to use the cd.

jsut go to blackberry.com
if its your first time there select the country.

once the page loads up your going to click on software up at the top.

once that page loads up you will see blackberry desktop software on the left hand side.

click on blackberry desktop software

then once that pages loads up click on download in the body of the page.

it will not bring up a page that asks you to please select a product.

from the drop down menu click on it and select desktop manager v4.7

then click on next.

from here you will see which version you want to download according to your liking.

in most cases i just have customers download it without media manager becuase with media manager its like 200 or 300.

from there its pretty straight forward follow the prompts.

let me know if you have any other questions
