  • Alfredson (director of the original Let The Right One In) has been reported as saying that he is not happy that the film is being remade, saying that "Remakes should be made of movies that aren’t very good, that gives you the chance to fix whatever has gone wrong" and expressing concern that the end result would be too mainstream.
  • After his successful bout with the giant creature in Cloverfield, director Matt Reeves is ready to take on young vampires in Let Me In, his remake of Tomas Alfredson's vampire film Let the Right One In. Production Weekly reports that filming is scheduled to begins this May for the film that follows Oscar, an overlooked and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl who turns out to be a vampire. Overture has slated it for release on January 15, 2010.

Awful.

I agree with Mr. Alfredson.

Okay. I HATE people who remake perfectly good movies just because they're too lazy to read the subtitles. Let the Right One In came out like a few months ago. WHY would they make a new one?! I'm baffled. Hollywood would just make it some cheesy lovefest along the lines of Twilight. This vampire craze has gone on for too long. It was refreshing for a new and original vampire movie, but Hollywood just HAS TO snatch it up again. WHEN will they learn?
