So I need to find a car asap, my mom is rushing me. Price range is somewhere around 11-13k. My family expect the car to be easy to maintain (so no bmw, audi tt, mini cooper, etc). Additionally, they don't want insurance to be so high for that car either.

2007 Scion tC, manual. i found one approx. $9k w/o negotiations yet. This, I can get right away, but i don't like the speed. I haven't test drive it yet, so if do you guys know how it is when driven? Good handling? Acceleration?... Also, I see tons of salvaged tC, is it because the car's handling sux or something?

350Z! 2005 touring, manual. I really like it, but it's hard to find one with the criteria that I want and is within price range.. so I found one $15,999. Usually, when negotiating at dealership, how low would they drop? $3k? $1k? Just some hundreds? Also, any pros and cons on the car itself? when driven as well?

I'm also looking at 2004 G35, is it expensive to maintain? like oil change and all, none of these cars are like bmws right where you have to bring to the dealership every time...

Any other car suggestions? with great handling, speed, and acceleration & are within price range?

Right now, I think I might as well go get the scion tc, but... unsure.gif

I've driven a tc before and to be honest with you, I give it tongue2.gif
Go for the 250z. seriously.

and the dealership agreed to knock down a little more than 2k for an 09 tsx with nav, so I'm guessing around that range.

fixed

350z if its between those 2 choices (although i dont see how insurance will be cheap for that car so your parents wont like it)

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

1. If youre asking here about those kinds of questions about those 2 cars, then you don't know much about cars.

2. If you dont know about cars then I doubt you know the in and out of taking care of one, and obviously many of the do it yourself's

3. If you cant do it yourself and you want to save money, the a luxury car like a G35 should be not considered, one oil change for a G35 would be enough to do three 3 for a TC, you cant afford it.

I dreamt about buying a Porsche 911 used when I went car shopping, though I can afford one I can never pay for the expenses of driving one, so I went with something more realistic instead.

im gonna go out on a limb and guess you can't drive (if you could you wouldnt be asking this question). so therefore you dont need 300hp and dont need rwd. just get a tc or rsx or something

350z for 12k? Doubtful unless something is wrong with it. And you really think you can get a tC for 9k? That's a bit low..

^ yeaaa 12k for 350z? I would have gotten 350z over civic or TC any day.
My mind is stuck with Scion TC and g35 dat ran over 50k miles and 350z dats over 15k.
350z will burn scion TC anyday.

Scion tc is a heavy car..but its good for its price.
350z is a light fast car and can get you anywhere anytimee.
I really want 350z but its not 12k so its kinda off my choice.

u can get a used wrx for cheap, but insurance wise, it might be up there with the 350z, especially in CA. In stock form it's decent in handling and power.

the 350z isn't that light. It's as heavy as an Sti or Evo, and both of those cars have awd

Yea but its not heavy as Scion TC or G35.
350z is pretty light for its car, especially its because its a sports car.

Curb the maintance cost by doing the work yourself. I remember my first car, which I didn't do much work on it myself and got ripped off countless times by the mechanic. I've had to learn to do my own maintanance and repairs so that I can save my $$$ for other things...

Oil changes for me are just the cost of oil and a filter and thats all i've ever paid for for my past two cars (which I did 90% of the maintanance and repair. I even helped my brother in law with his newer cars and they're just as easy and cheap to maintain. Learn the basics and you'd save $$$.

then factor in labor...im guessing she isnt doing it herself. hell at the shop i work at its almost $300 for a minor service (basically just an oil change) for porsche

Well I drive a 2007 350Z and I love it. Just bought it brand new last year and I love the new HR engine.

Out of those two choices I would definitely go with the 350Z and not just because I own one.

FYI to the guy who said the Z was light...it's definately not light.

If you're looking for a daily driver OP I suggest you go for other options. I use about $50-$60 worth of gas a week on my car but then again I do drive to work and school everyday lol.
